The expectations were high as Brin de Zinc has a rather high note on google comparing to spots nearby, but for me it was the worst dinner of my stay in Orleans. First, the menu is really difficult to read- different colors, different fonts, difficult to find the right part, etc. Second of all, no no-meat appetizers. Plus for rillettes which I adore. Only 3 cornichons. One type of charcuterie had rotten taste. Last but the worst, I ordered fondue savoyarde, just as my boss and without warning us, they gave us a common recipient with the cheese. I hate sharing food, so if they had told me, I would have changed my choice. Cheese was nothing special, boiled potatoes not baked, salad boring and the suspicious ham. Apparently, tartiflette was great, so in Brin de zinc TAKE TARTIFLETTE. We were served by 4 different waiters. I asked for recommendation and did not get any. I know it depends on taste, but he could have said something like "this is our bestseller" or "this is for meat lovers" or "I like better Welsh, but it's because I like eggs", anything. The interior is quite nice, looking like a museum. But sharing the meal is always uncomfortable for me, so two stars is maximum, sorry.

Très bon restaurant au cadre et à la décoration très original. Le personnel est très agréable et à l'écoute de la clientèle . Le repas en lui même est très bon et à un bon rapport qualité prix. Les désert sont très gourmands. Je recommande vraiment cette adresse.

Our dining experience at Le Brin de Zinc in Orléans was nothing short of a disaster, starkly standing out as the absolute worst during our extensive exploration of the city’s gastronomic offerings. The level of service—or, more accurately, the lack thereof—was astonishingly poor, far below any reasonable expectation. Waiting over an hour and a half for our meal was utterly unacceptable, a sentiment that became increasingly palpable as time painfully dragged on. This wasn’t just a minor hiccup; it was a glaring testament to a fundamental breakdown in restaurant management and customer service. Further exacerbating this ordeal, our simple request for the bill, in an attempt to at least pay for what little service we received (a glass of wine and Pepsi), was outright ignored. This level of neglect is not only unprofessional; it’s disrespectful to patrons who choose to spend their time and money at this establishment. It’s my hope that Le Brin de Zinc takes this feedback seriously and undertakes a rigorous review of their service standards to ensure no other customer has to endure what we did.

Second time we've tried to go. Failed the first time as they we're full, but got in this evening. Menu looks good, but there is way too much choice, meaning you assume they can't do everything well. Turns out that's true. Not cheap, so you have high-ish expectations.

To begin, the waiters/waitresses were excellent. Quick , pleasant and good at their job.

I had the Poutine and it was dry chip, bad cheese, cheap, bottled BBQ sauce and poor pulled pork. Really really average.

My daughter had the children's carbonara. It's always great when a restaurant does carbonara properly, but unfortunately they decided to do some weird mix of cheap (cream) and properly (raw egg and cheese). Unfortunately what you get is spaghetti...chunks of parmesan/cheese, cream...and a raw egg plonked on top. I have no issues with a raw egg on a steak tartare, but the whole point in a carbonara is it makes the sauce with the water/cheese/pasta. We had to ask the waiter to remove the raw egg as my daughter wouldn't eat it.

Totally understand we went to a restaurant in France and had one Canadian and an Italian dish...but if you sell it, do it properly.

Generally, they need to reduce the menu and do less...but better. Also...either do the carbonara properly or do a fake version, but don't do both...that's just weird.

The rest of our food was ok, but not worth the price. Had it all been like this, I'd have put the price down to the location bringing a premium and probably not reviewed.

Nice atmosphere, great location, nice staff, but it was really poor...
