Bistro Lyonnais — Restaurant in Paris

We went for a dinner after reading some great reviews. It was a Saturday night. The restaurant was not busy at all. Only two tables were taken and all English speaking tourists like us, while most restaurants around it were busy and full. We hesitated, but still decided to give it a try because of, again, the reviews. We should have trusted our instincts. Both the fish and beef dishes are flavorless and not fresh. Our French onion soups literally have no cheese and just warm but not hot. The owner, who is also the only waiter, spent much of his time online updating the google reviews, while his computer screen faced our table, making us suspect the authenticity of those reviews we trusted. In the end, the bill was automatically added 10% service charge. In all other restaurants we visited in our stay, this is the only one with the lowest quality of food and service. Will...

Bistro Lyonnaise was the best meal my wife and i had out of many great meals we had on our 6 week trip to france. We spent a hot day at Disney land on our last full day in Paris, only getting back to our hotel by train at 930pm. We decided to go out just the two of us for one final meal together. The lovely waitress was kind enough to seat us so late, and we were served really fast.

We had the baked egg with salmon for a shared entree, and it was amazing. We had the steak frites with pepper sauce and the duck confit with fondant potatoes, and they were both perfect 👌. We were recommended this bistro by our hotel and really loved the food. I ordered the emince de poulet, creme de champignons, & puree de potates douces (chicken, creamed mushroom, and sweet potato mash). My sister ordered the confit de canard, pommes soutess (duck with thinly sliced sauteed potatoes). Both dishes were amazing. I really enjoyed the sauce on the chicken and every bite was delightful. Everything was really well seasoned & cooked well. While the menus were only in french (we were able to use an app to translate) the staff spoke english and was very nice.
