I recently visited Paris for the first time. I am by no means a croissant expert, but early in the morning my last day there I looked up the best boulangerie closest to me. This boulangerie had the highest score, and it didn’t disappoint! I was up very early so I took a long walk around the area and got there just after they opened at 7AM. They were still stocking the shelves. I bought an original croissant and a pain au chocolat. The man up front was very friendly about my French, and kind about my embarrassing lack of skill with the French language! Anyway, the croissant was amazing - so fresh, with a slightly firm outer “shell” and soft and buttery inside. There was a nice hint of sweetness too. I’ve had croissants but NONE as good as that. The pain au chocolat was just as delicious. I visited Nice afterward, and looked for the highest ranking boulangerie near my hotel here, and found one rated higher than this one on the google scale - but the croissant was dry and not flavorful - not buttery and no hint of sweetness. I wasn’t there right when they opened, but I was there early (830-930am) and I expect a little bit of time shouldn’t affect the quality of the product very much. When I come back to Paris in the future, I’ll do my best to stay in the same area and wait outside their door at 7AM every...

Croissant: slightly sweeter than average, lacks buttery taste, but crispy on the outside and airy inside. Pain au raisin: much larger than average and well garnished with raisins. Baguette tradition: lacks the taste of levain. Flan nature: thick crunchy crust but found the filling a tad too sweet Quiche lardon: generous with bacon but had too much water content, soaking the crust resulting in a soggy pie.
I’ll revisit to try...

Bread was crispy and delicious, the feeling of ham and cheese was generous and the butter spread on one side of the bread gave more flavour. We liked them so much the last day, before catching our train back to London, we came here to grab a couple to have as dinner on the trip. It was late on the evening and they didn't have any on display, but we asked and they were kind enough to prep them just for us straight away. Really sweet of them,...
