Chanceux Saint-Maur — Restaurant in Paris

Chanceux is a cute restaurant in the busy street, rue Saint-Maur (11e). The food is fresh, homemade and overall tasty and delicious. The girl who welcomed us was extremely nice. Among the starters, I recommend the marinated goat cheese and the 'St-Nectaire' with basil oil. As the main course, we really liked the sausage with mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes as a side and we also enjoyed the 'ravioles de Royan' with grilled cheese, with salad. We stopped here after visiting L’Atelier des Lumières just down the road. They are open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner! We arrived at midday. We both had the tuna bun and it was delicious! Perfect balance of flavours and not too heavy. Bread was soft and fresh too! I also had a juice which was super refreshing and again, fantastic flavours. Lovely place but we were a little bit sad about the hospitality towards us during the first easter day. Apparently they only worked with an easter menu, but we didn’t want the whole menu and there was no way to order separate dishes. Okay, maybe we can understand that part, but what made us really surprised is that they had banana bread and other small treats available, only they refused to give us when we asked for it due to the easter menu. It’s a little bit funny… So 2 stars for the oat...
