Land&Monkeys Pernety — Restaurant in Paris

Had a great experience with their pastries and lunch meal option. It's rare to find an all-vegan bakery shop anywhere in Europe, so Land&Monkeys was truly a surprise with their large variety of options.

We went to buy their products every day for 3 days, and they never failed to deliver. We tried croissants, pain au chocolat, brioche, macaronnade pistachio framboise, flan vanille, and the lunch sandwiches. They were all tasty and my fiance enjoyed everything she tried. Personally I would have perhaps put a little more sugar in the croissants (or glaze on top), and maybe some an ingredient more in the lunch sandwiches (like some dressing sauce or sliced tomato and lettuce/rocket salad). However, I am not an expert and I still enjoyed their products. The products were packaged with care so they wouldn't get crashed together in the box/bag.

There's a few bad reviews about this place but in my case I always experienced a fast and friendly service. Every time we stepped in the staff was ready to listen to our order although we were slow and still reading the menu. 😅 I also saw other customers step in, quickly get served, and leave the premises. Prices were very competitive and it was refreshing to find cheap but tasty pastries/sandwiches!

Overall a good experience, I would love to see a Land&Monkeys open in...

My husband and I have bought items from here before, especially as he is vegetarian and we like to support vegan and vegetarian businesses. This evening, we decided to pop in for a cake and a drink. The young woman who served us was quietly spoken, and with the traffic noise communication took a bit longer. My husband explained that we wanted to sit inside and eat. No sooner had we sat down than the other lady working there, who appeared to be in charge, came up to our table and said in quite an agressive manner that they were closing in 20 minutes...a few minutes later she put the chaires up on the tables either side of us, glaring at my husband. Sometimes it is not the message that is the problem, but the manner of it's delivery. As somebody who has worked in public service jobs for 30 years I can tell you that this is not the way to keep customers. I think that this lady could really do with some customer relations training. We will certainly not be spending any money or time...

As frequent customers of the various Land&Monkeys, we were expecting some nice vegan pastries, as is usually the case in the other locations they have around the city. We came after lunchtime and ordered two pastries, but unfortunately they were very dry and dull. On top of it, the level of cleanness of the whole area (bathroom included) was really deficient. Many small cockroaches alive and half dead on the floor, both in the sitting area and behind the counter. The only customers were a lady and us both, and the two waitresses were just chilling and chatting, so they were not too busy to clean up the space. What a shame.. I’ll come back to Land&Monkeys, but definitely not...
