BEWARE, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! UPDATED HOTEL MANAGER RESPONSE ADDED TO PHOTOS.
I wish I had seen a review like this prior to booking at Niepce Paris; it has an extreme plumbing issue. I stayed in room 308, and the room is absolutely foul-smelling; it smells like mold and sewage, especially the bathrooms. The odor slaps you in the face as soon as you open the hotel door and is especially foul in the downstairs area. It does not go away even with the windows open.
The first night I turned down the bed sheets to find blood under the pillows. When I went to the front desk, agent Diago said no housekeeping was available and there was nothing he could do aside from a sheet to put over the blood! I will include the photos of the blood.
I spent most of the night standing outside the hotel because the odor was that unbearable.
This was a reservation for 4 of us. I can’t recall the name of the rep who spoke to us at the desk the following day, but she said they had no other rooms to move us to, and essentially they did nothing to rectify this.
This was my sister's birthday trip. We were paying a premium and expected at the very least an odor-free sanitary space.
They offered us 10% off for the stay, which was insulting based on how bad the condition of the room is. I am severely allergic to mold and had to take Benadryl, then had no where to rest because I was uncomfortable after seeing blood in the bed.
When we were checking out, we told Diago we reached out to Hilton Guest Assistance and we wanted to be refunded for the stay as we did not accept the discount. He again said he knows how to do nothing, and his direct quote was “We aren’t the first people to have this issue and to email or call the manager to be refunded.”.
The incompetence is astounding because the manager is never available. I wanted to get everything sorted before leaving the hotel, and I feel like Diago lied to us about who the manager is and gave misleading contact info so that they could not refund us. He refused to give Julie’s name as the manager (who refused to refund us) and said to email the generic email and ask for Xavier.
The hotel is now refusing to refund, and Diago, when I called, said to leave a negative review because they could care less. The customer experience is not a priority at all.
If you want to be treated well, PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. Dont waste your money it is not a clean environment.
UPDATE: The management here is shocking; they acknowledged and apologized, and even knowing all that transpired, they are still refusing to refund, even though no one lifted a finger to help us the entire stay. This is the hotel from hell, and if you encounter any issue, they lie and will not do the right thing. We requested a full refund because mold, sewage, and blood are unsanitary universally, France included!! They did offer a partial refund however they are keeping majority of the payment which is completely unfair. I want to reiterate that the hotel has a severe plumbing issue, and if cleanliness is important to you, you won’t find it here. I feel like we are getting the run around because we are Americans. The hotel concealed the identity of the employee who has done all of this. Diago is a fake name provided to customers, and exactly as he said, his poor behavior doesn’t matter, and they do not care about what the customer experience is. IF YOU ARE A TOURIST OR FOREIGNER DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY SOMEWHERE ELES. Also guest assistance is a joke and the hotel treats it that...
Read moreTo be quite honest we had a TERRIBLE experience the Niepce Paris hotel. We traveled really far to make it for my sister’s birthday trip and no accommodations were made. There were many concessions and reason as to why there could be no resolution.
Upon walking in, we smelled a foul odor and our friend mentioned it as well. We did not think anything of it until we got back to the hotel and the smell lingered and got even worse after everyone showered. It smelled of mold and and mildew a very wet smell that permeated from the rug that was stained, throughout the entire suite upstairs. As someone who has respiratory issues this was a nightmare to stay in, my chest hurt the entire time.
As we settled in to turn in for the night, we found blood stains in our sheets!!! ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. They did not fix this issue till the afternoon the next day.
That night, when we discussed this issue with the front desk all they did was tell us to put a sheet over the blood stain. This was after going downstairs for a second time to complain. Our rooms should have been changed immediately! If they would not except this as guests, why should we? Would they be ok if this happened to them?
The whole room was a mess, there were many black scratches on the wall , the radiator was broken just out in the open, clearly there is a plumbing issue because even with the window open the smell just hit you in the face.
To appease our complaints they told us to put a sheet over the blood stain. The next day a mystery solution was put into the bathroom to help with the odor.. it is an internal issue and no amount of perfume will mask that no matter how much you spray in the hallway. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE FIXED BEFORE GUESTS PAY HARD EARNED MONEY TO STAY THERE.
Overall, there were three points of contact; one sent Red wine on our final night, one put a solution in our room which they knew would not work and Diago was completely incompetent, lied to us and did not want to help at all confirming that this is NOT THE FIRST TIME that this issue occurred at this hotel.
IT IS MISLEADING.
I am very, very disheartened by our stay being that this was our first time in Paris. We all worked so hard to be there only to be focused on this issue and not the experience and the joy of exploration.
If you don’t want your experience to be tainted, DO NOT STAY THERE ANY ISSUE WILL BE DISMISSED AND YOU WILL BE...
