It could be that we hadn't had a meal in 12 hours but I really enjoyed the food here! Arrived in Paris on an empty stomach at 11pm. We walked passed this place on our way to the apartment we are staying at and noticed it was still open this late in the evening. So we went and dropped off our bags real quick and came down for some grub!
There's two sections to the restaurant, a casual, fast food section in the front and a more formal dining in the back. They cook everything to order except for the doner kebab which is already on the spinner ready to be carved.
The menu is simple, the plate menu which comes with meat of choice, rice, couscous, salad, fries and bread. The sandwich menu comes with fries and meat of choice for your sandwich and then the salad memu. The plates range from €8,00 to €12,00 depending on your choices. Sandwiches are cheaper at around €5,00 to €6,00.
The gentleman working at the counter was very nice, spoke English and recommended the popular plate which was the doner kebab €8,00. We made sure they accepted credit cards too because we didn't have time to get to the bank. They just ask for a €10,00 minimum purchase.
When the food came out, it was such a big portion that I didn't think I was going to be able to finish it. Unfortunately....I did. LOL everything was so delicious I couldn't believe I practically cleaned the plate! I did leave a little bit of rice though. My hubbie and I walked out very happy having had a great meal on our first night in Paris! It wasn't a typical French cuisine but it...
Read morePlace to avoid. The food is okay, the staff is nice at first glance, but the female manager (maybe owner?) is absolutely dishonest. I had ordered an Iskender plate for 18€, the picture clearly shows a green pepper (which I love because the spiciness and subtle bitterness really brings the dish together for me), but the female manager told me after serving me that they didn’t have any green pepper left in stock, and she replaced it with some half-assed, barely spicy but very bitter harissa paste. Not only did she pretend that the green pepper is optional and there for decoration purposes (?? why would you give me some harissa to replace it if it’s optional in the first place?), she only said they put it in only if the customer asks for it, which again is not true, because the 2 times I had ordered the same dish in the past few days, they always served it with a green pepper.
When I asked if I could get a slight discount because I didn’t get the exact dish I paid for, the female manager got all pissy at me.
I'm not exactly mad at the food - it’s enjoyable for sure - but I absolutely despise liars and the woman who seems to run the restaurant absolutely seems to be someone who treats her customers in bad faith. That being said, the rest of the staff has...
