Le Mandarin de Choisy - restaurant asiatique — Restaurant in Paris

I’m not one to casually throw around superlatives in restaurant reviews, but I had an AWESOME dim sum lunch at Mandarin de Choisy last week. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that this was the best dim sum I’ve eaten on this side of the Atlantic.

The menu is pretty expansive, given the dearth of dim sum restaurants here in France. The Har Gow were perfectly done, so good I ended up ordering a second portion. They featured translucent wrappers with big chunks of shrimp. I also had the Shark Fin Dumplings … I haven’t seen these on a menu in years, but they were as tasty as I remembered them being. Another highlight was the Tofu Skin Roll with Shrimp and Duck.

I don’t get some of the negative comments here. The food was exquisite, service friendly and attentive, and the prices were entirely reasonable. Ordering a similar meal in Geneva, close to my home, would have cost nearly twice as much. Mandarin de Choisy has me wanting to go back to Paris so I can eat...

Not recommend this place. The food comes with small dish and taste so-so, especially the fried beef rice noodle which is the worst one I have ever tasted, it is totally not worth for the price we paid. We have 4 adults and 2 kids, so we just like to have hot tea for the adults, and cold water for kids. We are not aware of they will charge 2.20 Euro for each tea cup until we get the bill and they charge us for 6 tea. When I talk to the cashier about it that we only have 4 adults use tea, but she is little mean and doesn't care. She said they charge by tea cups, which mean they can charge you with empty tea cups and nothing in it. Don't think I've ever left a bad review before. We ordered via Ubereats and they forgot to deliver parts of our order. When calling both the driver and then the restaurant, they told us to re-order and that we had to pay again. We explained that we had already paid for our full order and would thus like to receive all of it. They did not understand and told us that we could file a complaint if we wanted. Still waiting for our money back. The food we received was actually decent, but the service was abysmal - no suggestions, no offers, nothing. I can understand that the job can be super stressful and that there might be problems with the availability of drivers but then you at least have to apologize and offer a different solution.
