Le Petit Italien — Restaurant in Paris

Waste of time. We arrived at 18:00 and were told to come back at 19:00 because they were having a break. Fair enough, we waited an hour. When we returned at 19:07, the restaurant was completely empty, only one table was occupied. The staff looked at us and immediately told us to leave, claiming they were “fully booked.”

It was raining when they turned us away, and they didn’t even bother to offer one of the many outdoor tables, which were all empty and clearly not reserved. I politely asked if we could stay for just 15 minutes for a quick starter and mousse, but the same waitress who told us to return at 19:00 refused and asked us to leave in a very rude way.

It was obvious they simply didn’t want to serve anyone who wasn’t French. During Paris Fashion Week, that kind of attitude is just embarrassing. A total waste of time. Do yourself a favor and don’t leave your money at...

Food was mediocre had Gorgonzola and aubregine bruschetta entrée which lacked any interesting flavor as it was smothered in Gorgonzola, then the main was okay bland creamy pasta with a mushroom garnish but it did have tons of lovely freshly sliced proscioutto. Also we walked in with no reservations and they sat us right by the door while the whole rest of the establishment remained empty for the next two hours. And the service was not attentive waited till main course to bring bread basket (while other tables received theirs with the starter) and brought check without being asked and then waited 10 min to run the card while she chatted with coworkers by the bar. Woman acting as hostest was extremely rude and I didn't make it past the door. Walked in on a Friday night and the place was empty. Another couple was behind with a baby. Said Bon Soir and asked for a table for two. The woman asked if we had reservations, which we didn't and neither did the people behind us. She slammed her hand on the reservation book and yelled "No reservation, no tables! Must eat outside." We walked. She could have simply said there were no tables available except outside if we wanted. We would have understood, thanked her, and made reservations for a different date.
