If you're the type of person who picks their restaurant based on how instagramable they are then maybe not for you. However if you are prepared not to judge a book by its cover and like GENUINE experiences then please go try Karima's couscous! You'll receive a warm welcome from her husband Hamza also. (Hamza's parents left Bejaia, Kabylie when he was 5. He's taken on the legacy of the family' s restaurant which was opened in 1979). Paris can feel so formal and impersonal sometimes, it is heartwarming to see how Hazma's customers (regular or first timers) respond to his relaxed / welcoming Mediterranean approach. The prices are hugely more reasonable also! (We literally spent over double the price close to Notre Dame today and the food was not that spectacular and not as plentiful for sure). My only complaint is that Karima's pastries were so good I ended up having 3 🙈🙈🙈 so I'm definitely going to have to go for a jog tomorrow to preserve my poor waste line 🤣. Merci Hamza et...

The owner/waiter/facilitator/everything is friendly and accommodating. The menu is displayed on the wall (as well as Algerian red wines) and consists almost exclusively in couscous dishes. The dishes were delicious (don't hesitate to ask for more couscous if you are running low) - the sauce was perfectly balanced (and spiced) and goes well with the couscous. The place can get crowded quite fast as few tables are only available for on-site service but take-away service is also offered! The (atypical) plus: you can order beers to wash it down! To finish the meal, don't forget the...
Read moreThis is the best couscous I have ever had, in France or elsewhere. So fluffy and light. The vegetables and broth with it were superb and the meat we had which was chicken, sausage and kofta was exceptional. The meat was freshly cooked, the chicken was the most succulent and tasty I have had in Paris. The chick peas, sultanas and chilli sauce were fabulous additions. We also had a 1/2 litre carafe of the house merlot which was lovely and a nice coffee after. I can not recommend this place enough. The service was friendly and efficient, even though they were busy. Lovely people run...
