Palais d'Asie — Restaurant in Paris

4 stars for the food and 2 stars for the service. The food was hit or miss, as I enjoyed the Vietnamese fried chicken (poulet frit) and the vegetables (liseron d’eau). The other things we ordered were just okay (banh cuon, vegetable spring rolls, and bo nuong xa).

As for the service, the server just haphazardly left the silverware on our table, we waited 15 minutes just to order, and then waited at least 30 minutes to get our food (where the two main dishes came ~10 minutes apart). The reception was lukewarm at best. To be fair, the dining room was mildly busy and they seemed understaffed.

Visité en août. On est arrivés tardivement, et complètement par hasard. Les prix nous ont paru corrects, donc on est entrés, et au final on ne l'a pas regretté. Malgré l'heure tardive, il y a avait du monde, bien que ça se vidait. On a eu une place tranquille, toutefois on a d'abord été intimidés par la serveuse d'un certain âge et qui arborait un visage grincheux. On a hésité à repartir, elle était probablement fatiguée... Cependant, on a compris qu'elle n'était pas mécontente qu'on soit là pour autant, et on passé commande. On a été servis assez rapidement. Mon plat était délicieux, je me suis arrêtée sur un choix qui changerait de d'habitude, et j'ai bien fait ! Mon compagnon a préféré s'en tenir à un plat qui ne sortait pas trop de l'inconnu, il en a été satisfait et a été très agréablement surpris quand il a goûté le ragoût que j'ai pris. Les quantités étaient plutôt généreuses, on est ressortis le ventre bien rempli mais pas dans l'excès non plus, et pourtant on n'avait pris ni entrée ni dessert. Le prix était juste par apport à la qualité et à) la quantité, et les tenanciers sont très gentils, ils font ça depuis longtemps et on sent une certaine ambiance familiale une fois qu'il y a moins de monde.
