Our trip to Europe in January 2024, after eating French food for a few days, we got tired of Escargots and Duck with wine sauce, we decided to go to District 13, where all the Vietnamese restaurants reside. From Yelp we found Pho13 with the reasonable prices and good reviews so we took Uber from our hotel near Eiffel Tower to district 13. The restaurant is well decorated with neon lights. It's on the second floor of a shopping center. The servers were extremely polite and attentive, we talked in Vietnamese which was nice. The servers here are quite friendly and open. The service was fast. We were amazed that the food here was so good, as good as in CA or better. The Egg rolls with rice paper were crispy and tasty like my mom would make them. My daughter loved them. My daughter ordered Bun Bo Hue and it was great, the broth is made just like at home but better, even the noodles and vegetables. My wife ordered Pho which she liked very much, as delicious as we cooked at home and we cooked extremely well LOL. And me, I ordered the bo luc lac (shaken beef) which extremely tasty and tender, better than many restaurants in CA. My daughter loves beef especially bo luc lac and salt, pepper, lemon dip. She practically ate most of my beef cubes LOL. They also have the baguettes with cold meats for us to take home for the next morning, we liked them, very good with lots of meat. It was nice to find a place like this, although we would come back here the next day for dinner, but we needed to try other restaurants around the area. Next time if we come to Paris, we will definitely visit this restaurant again. One thing about Restaurants in France is that TIP is not...
STAY away, there is nothing authentic with their cuisine here. Just a bad copy of the very good restaurant before. Could very well be your next tourist trap! Oh, did I mention the server dropped the chopsticks and spoon on the dirty floor and straight away put them back on the table without even blinking. No one serious about openning a restaurant would do that, right in front of their clients!!
This review is for the one at avenue d'ivry. Really the worst bun bo Hue around.
The restaurant at avenue choisy is slightly better but not as good as the old one. One might says a restaurant is only as good as its chef!! Bring back the old chef and I will come back. And the service as well, it WAS warm with a personal touch and makes you feel at ease. Not a bunch of amateur students wannabe or old uncles like right...
Read moreI visited Phở 13 in Paris about two weeks ago during my pilgrimage tour, and we had two meals there. Each time, we could choose one dish from their menu — which offers a great variety of Vietnamese food!
On the first visit, I had bánh xèo, and the second time I tried cơm tấm. Honestly, both were amazing. The pork ribs with the cơm tấm were flavorful and cooked really well. The rice was a bit watery, but nothing too serious. The bánh xèo was crispy, generous in toppings, and very satisfying.
My dad had cơm cá kho, and it came in a good portion and tasted great. What impressed me most is the wide variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes they offer — from rice to noodle dishes, grilled meat, and more.
The restaurant seems very popular and was quite full during both of our visits, especially with tour groups. Because of that, service wasn’t super smooth, but still acceptable considering how busy they were. If you’re in a rush, I’d recommend calling ahead or checking if they take reservations.
If you’re in Paris and craving Vietnamese food, don’t miss this place! Highly...
