Tucked away in the heart of Belleville, Aux Délices d’Hanoï totally blew us away. This spot serves up some seriously fresh, vibrant Vietnamese food that hits all the right notes, think rich broths, crisp herbs, and bold, authentic flavors that taste like home cooking in the best way.

My family accidentally stumbled at this place to look for dinner in the area. We were intrigued by the great reviews, especially as Asian tourists travelling from a Canadian city with a huge variety of great Asian cuisines. This place was wow!! One of the best clean pho we had, rich broth but clean and not overly salted and no trace of MSG. We also had pad thai which was delicious and authentic and their banana coconut pudding was amazing!! Le monsieur qui tient le resto est un peu flippant, je trouve. Pas un sourire de la soirée, il te prend ton assiette alors que t'as pas encore fini (rassure-toi je l'ai sauvée. Il est pas né, celui qui me prendra mon assiette alors que j'ai pas encore fini), après le plat il te fait "pas de café, pas de dessert" [ton d'affirmation péremptoire] et il s'en va, alors que t'aurais bien voulu regarder la carte quand même...

Bref, c'est pas l'award du meilleur service mais c'est aussi ça qui est rigolo. Et après tout, quand il a fallu changer une entrée parce qu'elle est arrivée pleine de cacahuètes alors que mon pote est allergique, il n'y a eu aucun problème, donc on va pas râler!

En entrée, j'ai pris un rouleau d'été (4€), avec du bœuf et du sésame dedans. Très bon, et joliment servi. Et couvert de cacahuètes, ahah!

En plat, un Pad thaï aux crevettes (15€). Ils appellent ça un "pâtes thaï", c'est mignon. Pas assez mignon pour me faire oublier que j'avais peur du monsieur, mais mignon quand même. C'était délicieux. Pas pâteux, super parfumé, un peu piquant, plein d'herbes, avec 8 crevettes dedans je crois, et copieux. Pas de place pour le dessert, c'est dire.
