Sandwich libanais Hala.chez.jad — Restaurant in Paris

My husband picked up our Deliveroo order (our Airbnb was right next to the restaurant) and was a bit surprised to find out that the food was not really fresh, especially the Kebbeh and Samboussek. Also, we bought meat shawarma, although no doner/shawarma meat grill was found at the place, which might indicate that the meat might not have been freshly cut from a grill. 💔

If you're craving actual Lebanese/Syrian cuisine, I'd skip this place because what they offer is more like a hipster take on Levantine food, with additions like black sesame seeds and bell peppers in the shawarma, for example. But if you're just looking to grab a bite late at night after bar-hopping in Buttes Aux Cailles, this place might do the job.

The food was so unbelievably good that I ended up going back after a few days. The owner was so nice, and passionate about his creations, which really showed in the food. Everything was so rich and flavourful and he also took a lot of time to explain what everything was on the menu. The only downside is that there isn't much seating but you can always take the food to go....
