We’ve been coming to Valentin for a long time. And whenever we have guests visiting us in Paris, or friends looking for recommendations, we always point them Valentin’s way.
The restaurant is a great bistro-style spot, serving many of the French classics (magret de canard, cassoulet, petit salé, onion soup, herring, French desserts, etc), with a great wine list. Valentin, his wife, and colleagues always go above and beyond to provide a warm welcome, explain the menu, and give personalised suggestions. In addition to the main menu, there is always a great list of specials on the board. On the last night we chose to walk to the closest restaurant we can find in the area of our accommodation and we stumbled upon this lovely cosy restaurant. She made excellent recommendations and let you us try a bottle of win before purchasing it. (We bought it and it was wonderful.) There recommendations for both food and drink are spot on.
We also got to know a little bit more about the neighborhood and fun things to see before we left Paris.
I definitely recommend this place and wish we had more time there to see it before...
