Lao Siam — Restaurant in Paris

Lao Siam is in a league of their own when it comes to Thai / Laotian cuisine. I have eaten quite extensively in Southeast Asia, and Lao Siam is super legit, although for my taste I would have liked much more hot and spicy in the dishes. In France though it is hard to find any restaurant that will serve spicy food to the French…they don’t want it. What I like most about Lao Siam is that they make really amazing yet simple dishes but they shine and are well balanced in flavor. To be honest, most Asian restaurants in Paris are serving premade things they bought from places like Tang Freres the Asian grocery store. Lao Siam is making everything themselves and you can really taste the difference. The pork ribs I highly recommend, and the beef salad was super refreshing and delicious. Everyone orders the mango and sticky rice for a reason, it’s crazy good. Red curry duck is also super tasty but this is one dish where I wanted more heat, it’s really good but some spice would have made it much better for me. Will return here for sure to try lots...

Absolutely phenomenal. Came because there was a line outside of the restaurant and we wanted to see what the hype was about. The line moved quickly, and being a group of 5 helped skip the line a little (based on availability) we were served by three members of the team, all of which were really pleasant and joking around, all smiles. The food was amazing, I had the red Thai curry which was great, but trying the green Thai curry gave me food envy. Trying everyone's meals lead to the conclusion that everything was of very high quality. Our only gripe was the limit of vegetarian options, but our French wasn't good enough to ask for alterations to the meals on the menu. Highly recommend...

C’est tout d’abord un restaurant bondé mal isolé et très bruyant donc impossible de se retrouver calmement pour dîner, a l’arrivée de la serveuse elle nous demande ce que l’on désire manger, je lui demande un plat avec du boeuf que je désire bien cuit, elle me dit que non ce sera saignant, je m’oriente donc vers un rouleau de printemps et un accompagnement de nouilles, elle se permet de me dire que ce sont deux entrées et qu’il me faut donc un plat ( elle qui voulait me servir du boeuf cru ) après quoi elle m’oriente vers un assortiment de plats beaucoup plus couteux me disant que c’est ce qu’il faut manger ici, je lui ai clairement que je prendrais ce que je veux et qu’il était évident que je ne prendrais pas de viande si la cuisson de celle ci ne serait pas respectée, mon ami a pris un pad thai végétarien qu’il a qualifié de classique étant lui meme grand amateur, pour les boissons nous nous sommes dirigés vers 50cl de thé glacé a 4€50 quand une nouvelle fois elle nous interpelle dans notre choix pour nous proposer son thé au citron a 6€50, autant vous dire que nous avons pris le thé glacé, quel erreur, c’était simplement de l’eau jaunâtre avec des glaçons ( gout neutre sans saveur) je pensais faire plaisir a mon ami en l’emmenant manger la bas, il est évident que ce restaurant n’a plus rien a voir avec les saveurs que je côtoyais quand j’habitais non loin et étais un habitué, dernier petit point, dans les toilettes pour homme il y avait des odeurs de remontée d’égouts si bien qu’il fallait essayer de tenir en apnée et en se pressant pour ne pas s’évanouir.
