We came here because of all the glowing reviews. And left wondering where these other reviewers had eaten.
Ordered entrees off the board, we saw another waiter explain both the tapas & entree menu — we thought that was nice. We inquired and ordered the tapas our (male) waiter suggested. Would have been more appropriate to see all of the menus and have them explained. We had a sausage tomato dish (not good), tuna (good) and fish curry (was ok). In addition to two tapas apps: accras (good) and shumai-like pork dumplings (not good). No one in our party liked the bland side lentils that came with the entrees. And the advertised mashed potato purée (was good) but was actually "sweet potato" mash. Strange. The entree portions were small for the price point (roughly 30 euros per) and the cocktails were weak (and all of the available cocktails were sugary - gross). This was a regrettable dining experience for the price point. The quality of the food & preparation was unimpressive. I don't know where the hype is coming from. Hostess...

But alas, the food was just not executed very well. Some items like the beef samosas and the salad were nice, and the calamari in garlic sauce was decent. The beef however was inexplicably inadequate - basically raw and incredibly difficult to chew, and while the sauce it was in was interesting and spicy, it needed something else to balance it out (a coconut cream perhaps?). A modest dinner for 4 at €100 so not terrible, but this place has so much more potential, especially as the immediate area suffers from a dearth of nice restaurant options to accommodate the...
Read moreTruly there are no words to express how delicious food is served in Ti Maki. After living almost 3 months in Caribbean this is the top one restaurant. Menu is not too long and the dishes are very tempting. I ordered beef carpaccio as a starter with a passion fruit sauce, and for a main dish calamari’s in garlic, which were salty but the sauce was extremely good (take rice/purée from sweet potatoes as a side!) and my boyfriend ordered black angus steak medium rare with French fries and salad, and sauce from foie gras. We were totally full, because dishes are quite big. Unfortunately I can’t come back because that was my last night in the Guadeloupe, but if I come back, it will be the first restaurant I...
