Le Saint Jean — Restaurant in Prades

We had a great dinner at Le Saint Jean in Villefranche-de-Conflent. The food was excellent—well-cooked, full of flavour, and thoughtfully presented. The hosts were lovely: the husband was warm and welcoming, and his wife, who is the chef, clearly knows her craft.

They’re originally from Portugal, and the Portuguese dishes on the menu were particularly impressive—authentic and delicious—but the French options were also very good. We chose from the set menus, which offered great value for money, especially for a restaurant in a tourist town.

Felt insulted by the waiter, who also seemed like he was the owner. He treated us in a condescending way, and told us we could not share menus in a very patronising way (we knew there was a chance we would not be able to, but we had prepared a plan B for that - it wasn't the message, it was the way it was delivered).

Then when I told him which menu I wanted, he said "stop" with the hand, and then pointed at the clock, to say they were no longer serving menus. Had he told us this the first time around, we wouldn't have wasted more time trying to pick which menu to get. It just felt like he was mocking us from the moment we entered, so we just left...

Vraiment une surprise incroyable, de passage dans la ville avec des amis un messieurs nous a conseillé le restaurant pendant que nous regardions la carte à l'extérieur. Et Vraiment je suis reconnaissant qu'il l'ai fait !

Les menus sont vraiment peu cher pour la qualité et la quantité servie

J'ai prie le menu à 25 euros l'entre était une tarte au lardon je m'attendais à recevoir une part ou deux tout au plus mais c'est la tarte entière que j'ai reçu un délice les lardons était d'une très belle qualité la pâte faite maison et des oignons parfaitement cuit.

Pour le plat j'ai choisi la dorade sublimer par le grand talent du chef cuisiner

Et pour le désert j'ai choise la bavaroise framboise qui était tout simplement exceptionnel copieuse faite maison vraiment incroyable.

Je suis sorti repus et satisfait de ce restaurant comme je l'ai rarement été Le restaurant était parfaitement propre les toilettes aussi et le patron est vraiment sympathique

Si vous aimez la cuisine maison de qualité et copieuse c'est ici qu'il faut mangé.
