I am giving this rating by explaining in detail my opinion on each dish. I visited this place on August 14 and ordered the following dishes:
Veritable pa amb tomàquet (15,90) – The menu says it’s served with 24-month jamon serrano. We were asked if we wanted the large or small portion. We chose the small, and we only got bruschetta with tomato sauce. We asked why and were told the small portion only included that. So we ordered the large, and the ham arrived as well. The cheese and ham (presumably store-bought) were good; the bruschetta, however, was made with stale bread and a tomato sauce that wasn’t fresh at all.
Salad biquette (13,90) – Strawberries in August… likely the only place in the world. Otherwise, edible lettuce leaves, good Greek-style crusted cheese, and balsamic vinegar for dressing: not rated.
Tournedos avec sause (29,90) – Beef fillet cooked medium (ok), wrapped with “crispy” bacon that was actually raw; the Banyuls sauce saved the rest.
brochette d’onglet mariné chimichurri (25,90) – A skewer of cooked meat with no hint of chimichurri or any other flavour, served with practically raw vegetables, French fries, and carrot purée…
For a total of 99 euros (including two glasses of sangria) you can eat twice at an excellent Mexican restaurant in Toulouse. Instead, we were at 32 Rue Saint-Jean, 66500 Villefranche-de-Conflent.
Service was fair: they served us pieces of sausage without even saying what it was, but otherwise the staff were welcoming.
I think this is just a tourist spot and nothing more—unfortunately, like me. I strongly advise against it for anyone in the area looking for good local food. Thank you.

Read moreOne of the best restaurants I have been in my life. The tournedos de boeuf, lard fumé, banuyls, gratin dauphinois... I think I might have never enjoyed a piece of meat so much in my life before.
We were quite desperate looking for any restaurant, it was almost 10pm and apparently it's time to go to bed around here 😒😉. The husband of the genius woman who cooked my food, received us and was so friendly, so empathetic, he gave us a table, risking to upset the kitchen/his wife, considering the late hours.
It was an amazing surprise. Real food from the heart. ❤️
Also greetings to the lovely young lady who served us and spoke English so well.
All the best...
Read moreLovely restaurant! The staffs are great, they don’t speak English though. We had the Little Yellow Train Menu for €22, and the pork ribs were so soft and taste amazing! And the potatoes were delicious! The Caesar salad was quite big portion but good 👌🏻Although the children’s menu I couldn’t recommend much. We ordered the Catalan sausage with pasta, and the pasta was just cooked pasta with no any sauces at all. It came with a sauce in a small bowl though, but not sure if it was tomato sauce or ketchup for...
