Restaurant l echauguette — Restaurant in Prades

The worst experience we ever had travelling around the world . When we firstly come there to order menu of the day there were no free places, so the older guy who is the owner or waiter proposed us to make the reservation and came back in 30 min what we successfully made. When we came back no one came to us to give the menu, we were sitting and trying to google something on our own, then after 25 min of waiting the waiter came and give us the menu explaining that we can order general menu dishes or menu of the day for 19 euro and run away. We wanted to order menu of the day but to order we had to wait 15 min more ! Even taking to consideration that there were 3 waiters no one came even when we were asking. After 15 min the angry and rude guy came back and told us that it is not possible to order menu of the day anymore, because they don’t have anymore some positions! So we loosed more than 45 min just to know in the last time that it is not possible to order menu . It was not our fault that we were waiting so long for normal customer service ! We went away but loosed so much time! We enjoyed a really lovely meal here. Alex welcomed us so warmly from the moment we entered the restaurant. He made a massive effort to explain the menu to us and the special Catalan influences. We had the steak and traditional accompaniments and a dessert (tiramisu Catalan recipe) to share which was delicious. Arrivé au restaurant par le train jaune et devant repartir avec le même train sur Fond-Romeux nous avons demandé, voyant un service d'une extrême lenteur si nous aurions le temps de déjeuner, la réponse mal aimable à été dans le style vous verrez bien. Une fois servis de la spécialité de boulette nous nous sommes retrouvés avec une écuelle de fayots et deux boulettes minuscules sous la tomate, ayant plus le gout d'une chair à saucisse mal épicée que l'indication salivante de cette spécialité catalane. Après l'avoir ouvertement signalée au maitre des lieux, sa réponse a été de nous faire comprendre que nous étions de mauvais clients. Par la suite nous avons commandé le même plat dans un autre restaurant d'une autre ville pour comparer, et pour la moitié du prix nous avons eu un plat nettement meilleur avec une quantité trois fois supérieur en boulettes (6), une amabilité au service sans faille. Je tiens a préciser que pour le menu de l'échauguette c'était deux boulettes et pour le plat à la carte à 19€le nombre de boulette passait a trois, cela pourrait être comique, mais pour ma pars j'appèle cela du vol patenté.
