We arrived in Provins without a hotel booking, so walked around on the hunt. A very helpful local estate agent printed off some directions so back to the car and away. We avoided the old centre of the town and decided on the Clos St. Jacques on the main road. Down the drive to a collection of buildings. The hotel was being renovated but we were shown a small room with small bathroom, but both fresh and clean.The most impressive room was the dining room and as the owners were Algerian,the cuisine was North African. Read moreExcellent food and great service. My husband and I were so glad we ate at this restaurant given we didn’t have so much luck finding good French restaurant in Paris or in Provins. The gentleman who served us was very patient with helping us finding the dishes we wanted since we didn’t read French. The next best thing was the food we had the lamb dish with honey raisin sauce. The portion was very generous. Since it is not too far from ramparts, we strolled to the ramparts and enjoyed splendid sunset after a big wonderful meal.
