Le Trattoria du Val is an Italian restaurant run by an Italian couple. The restaurant is located exactly at the end of rue du Val and at the end of the descent of rue Saint Thibault from the medieval city of Provins. It has a few shaded tables on the terrace in front of the restaurant and dining rooms on two levels inside. The surrounding parking space is difficult during the day. It is advisable to book there for lunch or dinner. In this restaurant, you will not only eat pasta or pizzas, it also cooks fish and meat. The dishes are homemade and are prepared with fresh ingredients. Opt for the homemade desserts and I recommend the homemade ice cream displayed in the refrigerated showcase in front of the entrance. The flavors are restrained and depend on the day, but the taste is exquisite. Service is a little slow, but don't worry, you're in for a treat. There is nothing to say about the...
Read moreMy partner and I came here on a day trip to Provins. Nothing to write home about but the older blonde woman managing this establishment was atrociously rude. We are Americans, but I speak French and everything seemed fine throughout. However, when we were too full to finish our meals and asked for the check, we had to ask three separate times over the course of ten minutes. Eventually I had to go to the front desk, where the manager was watching a video on her phone, and I had to pay there instead of her coming to our table— all other diners paid at their tables. As someone who also works in food service, I understand if service is slow due to understaffing or a busy day. However, it became clear that this horrible woman was just being petty for no reason. That woman was so awful that I am leaving my second ever restaurant review here. Do not come!!! Under any...
Read moreWe passed by the restaurant on a Sunday noon and decided to eat due to the great reviews it had. We only ordered 4 pizzas and desserts. The pizzas were incredibly tasty, and I highly recommend the Tartufo Gorgonzola if you’re very hungry, as it is a huge hearty pizza. The second best was the Tartufo e Funghi, followed by the Quatro Fromaggi and the Capriciosa. However, we were highly disappointed by the desserts. We took a tiramisu, but they added a cheap chocolate topping on top of the it that really spoiled its taste. I think they add toppings on all desserts, which make these seem super low quality compared to the pizza. The staff only spoke Italian so at times we found a bit hard to understand each other, but they were friendly. The prices are the same as a Parisian restaurant. It was a great experience and I would come back, but won’t take...
