IF YOURE VEGAN READ THIS. The items on the menu titled vegan ARE NOT vegan. I ordered the Vegan Quesadilla x4 and suspected the cheese was too well bound to be without milk. Upon asking the waiter if they were vegan, she said no and reordered a genuinely vegan version. When a different waiter delivered the food that I could eat, he responded to us saying it was a mistake on the menu, uttered through a sly smirk on his unapologetic face. After ordering vegan starters and mains (and ordering something literally titled as vegan) I would have expected the waiter to mention the item contained milk. Upon asking for the manager, the seemingly unequipped waiter revealed that he was in fact the manager. He offered no compensation and when we went to pay the bill, he asked us to pay for the inedible food, arguing against us for refusing to pay for their mistake of serving food that will make me unwell. It did not feel as though he was genuinely apologetic or wanted to make the situation better for us. How can you show your face in this industry with absolutely zero people skills. How can a person market their restaurant to meet such specific needs when it is a blatant lie. The manager has no understanding of the culinary industry or the need to respect using the label âveganâ and what the term means to their clients. I hadnât eaten cheese in over 7 years and yet the manager explained to me that this mistake had been on the menu for a while, unchanged. I felt disrespected by this. He has promised the menus will be reprinted by tomorrow morning...
Read moreThe guacamole was exactly as it should be, the double serving for a starter was sufficient for four people to have about three chipsâ-worth each. The tacos are about the size of your hand; four at almost âŹ15 was a bit dear but they were tasty. There was one salsa brought to the table (tomatillo), and then another dish of the same size (a shot glass about 2/3 full) of red chilli flakes in oil, which had quite a kick but not much flavour.
Iâve been very spoilt by years living in California, so please take my review with that in mind. The meal absolutely helped satiate my desire for Mexican which I have...
