Piège à touristes as the french say. It was my husband, me and 2 friends and we have never had such an experience. We were seated at an outside table, located on what is called terrasse. Starting from a table next to ours where a couple was sitting with a girl who must have been 6 or 7 years old: all the time she sang, observed us and disturbed us. And the mother nothing, she didn't control her daughter because was more interested in talking to her soul mate (who nicknamed us "Turks" because we spoke Greek. Unfortunately for him I understand and speak French and I remember him that the people from Turkey welcome tourists better and respect them). As for the so-called Alsatian specialties: nothing special. The tartes flambées were dry and tasteless, especially the Forestière. The famous Picon Bière more expensive than in other restaurants, the choucroute was really salty and, too bad, the waitresses were not at all professional. Maybe the tourists bother because they aren't french? Bad experience, very bad welcome from the staff and...
Read moreI write this as am sitting here eating dessert-I kid you not 40 minutes after I have finished dinner. I don’t want to write this review, I truly enjoyed this restaurant and would highly recommend. It seems everyone on the terrace, including myself had enough after waiting 40 minutes to have some waitress bring them dessert without speaking a word-much less bringing the l’additon. From the start of the meal to the grueling end we have been heavily ignored. We have seen many table clearers and waitresses come by clean tables around us and not even bat an eye in our direction or notice the fact we have been waiting for way to long for someone to ask for even the simplest of things. I fear I cannot write more as I am tired and would like to forget this. I have rated it what I think it would have been without the horrifying service. I do hope for the restaurant you hire more waiters as I feel it a disposition to put all the blame on someone who is waiting...
Read moreSuch a cute restaurant. We made reservations at the last minute which was a good idea. It’s very crowded. The waiter was very accommodating to my dietary needs. He made a tartes flambé half vegetarian for me and half no onions for my companion. It was delicious. I got the vegetarian plate and he got the vol au vent. It came with scallions which he didn’t know , but the chicken/ veal was moist. And it came with a couple of carrots. It’s almost like chicken pot pie, but not exactly. Got vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, which was good too. I think it’s a typical restaurant with typical food for this area. The service...
