I was making my annual trip between Paris and St. Bart’s and had a layover in St. Martin. I was chatting with a chap that was guiding me through the airport and he had an Alize hat on and I asked what it was. He said it is hottest new restaurant on the island. I made arrangements for that evening and I was blown away by my experience. The restaurant is on the marina waterfront in Marigot. There is nothing like it in St. Martin. The deco and music made me feel like I am in St. Tropez. I sat at the bar to start with a cocktail. The bartender made a fantastic vesper. It rivaled my favorite in London. I made my way to a table for dinner with a view of the marina. I started with the duck liver. It was savory and sweet at the same time. Beautiful presentation. The wine list was superb. So many places have wine that is far too young. They have some Bordeaux and Burgundy bottles with some age. For my main, the snapper did the trick. I have not had a popsicle since I was a child, a lifetime ago. The waitress said it was must. She was so correct. The service was outstanding. I felt like I was at a Michelin star restaurant. I had such a nice evening. So happy that I had a stopover in St. Martin. I will be telling all of my friends in St. Barts and Paris that they must go when they are...
Read moreWe were fortunate to visit Alize during its soft opening in mid-October. The owners graciously welcomed us with a special tasting menu before the restaurant officially launched. This 4-course menu allowed us to sample a variety of their offerings.
The restaurant itself was beautiful and inviting, featuring a large bar area where patrons could walk in and enjoy a cocktail. We were seated at a table with a stunning view of the marina, which was one of the best spots in the house. The cocktails we ordered were delicious—both the grasshopper and the Vesper were exceptional! They were easily the best cocktails we had on the island.
Each dish was beautifully presented and showcased a touch of fusion. My favorites included the ceviche, eggplant, and the catch of the day.
The services we received were friendly and exceptional! We felt like royalty...
Read moreEverything here was perfect. The atmosphere on the waterfront with views of the boats was wonderful. We felt like we were on the French Coast somewhere. The food was delicious, including the cheese plate and the catch of the day. The cocktails were unique and tasty. The service was exceptional and every individual from the manager to the waiter to the busser were attentive and helpful. Finally, we enjoyed live music since we visited on a Thursday, and that was amazing, too. Really great singer, and loud enough to hear but not disrupt conversations. Alize was hands down our best meal in St Martin and I’d recommend...
