String beach — Restaurant in Saint Martin (France)

Stop by during a walk on the Beach, a Wednesday. Woman bartender made to great drinks! So we reserved two chairs for the next day. The next day was excellent; they had chairs as requested same woman served us, great drinks, she stopped by frequently to see if we needed more even adjusted our umbrella. Paid cash and all charges were right. We again reserved chairs for the next day; chairs were even better a row up on the end, great. New server younger woman, we had to flag her down for the first round. That was the last we saw her and she was around serving others frequently. I tried to flag her down to no avail. We got another young woman who brought food for an adjacent group to order two drinks. My wife got the man who showed us to our chairs to order wings and fries, he came back quickly with luke warm wings and cold soggy fries. Would have had more drinks but it wasn't worth the effort. Now time to pay, previous day the wonderful server came by with the check and I paid her cash with a nice tip. Now a day later with no one coming by for serve I had to go inside to pay, not a big deal but the women at the register had us down for three drinks instead of two for my wife and two for me. I told her we only ordered two rounds and but didn't want to argue and paid the overcharge. After that we moved on to JOA, superb...

This is probably the best "beach bar" I've ever eaten at. I ordered the Mahi Mahi coconut curry, and it was phenomenal. We also had the parmesan crusted tuna, which was great. I do wish they had a spicier version of it, because I think a spicy version of that curry would be my favorite curry ever. The curry they have has no spice (still delicious though).

Seemed like everyone else in the restaurant was ordering burgers and fries, and though they looked good as well, I highly recommend ordering the more refined meals. It was a great experience having such incredible food at...

We spend almost all of our beach time on St. Martin at Club O but chose Le String for an afternoon with friends who were on the island for a shore visit.

We were all thoroughly pleased and impressed with le String. The vibe is a bit more elevated than some of the other beach spots. No loud music or loud guests. Prompt, friendly and welcoming service. High quality beach chairs and umbrellas.

The menu offers something for everyone at fair prices. Two of us had the triggerfish. It was as nice of a fish dish as we've had, comparable to higher end dinner spots...
