Chez ben — Restaurant in Sarlat-la-Canéda

The food was fine for us, 5 people in total. We were with six and one of us has a gluten intolerance. When we got the bill an additional 5 euro was added, due to the fact that we were taking up a seat as one of us did not order food. The waitress referred to “supplement couvert”. We ordered six drinks so it is not possible to just have a drink, you need to eat something as well? The fact that one of us is having a gluten intolerance was not taken, we had to pay!! This is the first time in 16 years that we haven been travelling to France that this happens. I hope it will also be the last time. For a persoon with gluten intolerance it is very difficult to eat something at a restaurant. So you are already being punished and now punished double in a way. I hope the waitress will take this in consideration the next time someone else brings this up, a person who has certain intolerances. Just an advise …. You (the waitress) can ignore it as well, but as a waitress you should recieve people with a smile, not in a very kranky way, a smile...

Deux étoiles : une pour le budget, une autre pour la localisation. Pour le reste, c'est laborieux. Nous avons pris deux salades, une Cabécou, et une fraîcheur. Question en commandant cette dernière : les oignons frits sont-ils rouges ou blancs ? Réponse : on les reçoit en sachets, déjà frits. D'accord. Je le précise, car il est écrit en gros à base de produits frais. Passons. Les salades arrivent. La présentation est loin d'être satisfaisante. Tout est jeté dans l'assiette à la va-vite. On se dit : c'est Juillet à la Roque, le cuistot n'a pas le temps. Passons encore. En ce qui concerne la Cabécou, les toasts étaient censés être nappés de miel. Considérant les trois gouttes, j'ai dû arriver à la fin du pot. Passons aussi. En terme de goût, ok, sans plus, des tomates sans goût, un jambon "de pays" de qualité très moyenne, qui rappelle étrangement le sous-vide. Bref. Peut-être les pizzas sont-elles à la hauteur, mais pour nous, les salades ne valent clairement pas leur prix,...
