Mama Gina — Restaurant in Sartène

Please don’t go here!! The owner was physically attacking my girlfriend and me after a bad review and threatening us to punch us in the face!!

This might be the worst restaurant experience we've ever made. After writing a bad review the owner and two other men were waiting in front of the restaurant of us coming back after going for a walk on the harbor. He just asked if I was the one writing the bad review and without giving me the chance to answer he immediately pushed me and was very aggressive. He and the other man were telling my girlfriend (!!!) and me that they will punch us directly in the face the next time they see us. We were trying to calm down the situation, but they didn’t want to listen of what we had to say and were just threatening us very aggressively…

You can read in the other bad reviews that this wasn’t the first time this happened - I would advice everyone to not go here!

„worst pizza of the whole year..

please don’t go there, this place has such a bad quality of food. We ordered two pizzas - the dough was super dry and burned without a sip of water you won’t be able to swallow it. The toppings on the one pizza were absolutely soulless and the friarielli on the other one was so overcooked that the whole pizza was just bitter. & the meat, well it should have probably go directly into the trash instead on top of a pizza. I wasn’t even able to cut the Salsiccia with a knife because it was just meat cartilage.

The best thing about this place was when the waiter asked why we leave behind almost two complete pizzas and we kindly told him the feedback, his reply was „well you can order a Margherita the next time you come“ …

Normally i do not leave bad reviews on restaurants I've been, but this restaurant changed it, this is by far the worst restaurant I have ever been, the service was awful to be honest, I’ve ordered Calamari and Pizza, and it took 50 mins for the calamari, 50 MINUTES FOR THE STARTER! I asked the waitress several times and she would just say 2 mins every time i asked, and then i went to pay the beer because it was taking so long and go to another place and she told me to stay because it is coming again in “2 minutes” so i stayed, and the calamari arrive after 15 minutes so 1 hour just for the calamari to arrive and when it arrived, it was COLD I was so frustrated. The pizza came in 1 hour and 20 mins, when i asked her for what reason it took that long she said they have forgotten, can you imagine? Ive been sitting there and asking for my food for an hour and the waitresses would just say it is coming? Like really? You guys have been serving all these people on the other table but me? They wouldn’t even acknowledge you because you are Asian, i would never recommend this restaurant, food is bland. Please go...

This restaurant really saved the day for us with its menu, where we could find something tasty both for our kids and for ourselves. The gnocchi were served in a super original way, and the pizza was absolutely delicious. We spotted some really tempting desserts around us, but we were already too full to try them.

The staff was really friendly, especially the lady who let us sneak in a last-minute order right before their siesta. The stuffed mussels were to die for.

We also had a pretty wild experience here when out of nowhere, a huge rainstorm hit, and the sidewalk turned into a waterfall. But, as it happens on Corsica, it was warm and sunny again in no time.

Overall, a really nice spot for lunch....
