Poor value and spotty service (Margot and our main server were nice). Otherwise, pricing is 3x above what it should be with inedible food. Best part was the bread with butter. We ordered a Caesar Salad for our child. Not sure if the chef was mad about having to make it (despite it being on the menu, for 27 EUR no less) and trying to make a joke or insult, but it looked like something you might imagine getting at a McDonald’s (photo attached). If you’re visiting the Chateau de Chantilly, just eat there. You’ll spend under 30 EUR for a 3 course meal that’s delicious, without the attitude. Or you could come here and easily spend 150-300 EUR and leave hungry, confused and insulted. And if you’re looking for haute cuisine, this is France, there are plenty of places with great food and service, without the stuffy attitude that isn’t even warranted by the venue.

When you’re halfway through your French vacation and you need a quiet, relaxing meal in a beautiful restaurant, Le Jardin d’Hiver at the Auberge delivers exceptional cuisine and attentive service. Elsa and Adrian took great care of us. The beef bourguignon salad was delicious. The sauce elevated the overall flavor and the crispy and light crust added that bit of crunchiness to the texture that satisfies me very nicely. The scallops were prepared in way that gave them color while not overcooking them. The potatoes prepared three ways as the side item to the tender chicken, showed me the care and attention to detail from the chef that I appreciate and respect. After such a delightful evening, we’re refreshed and ready to experience the second half of our vacation.

We were welcomed by the hotel staff to the lounge area first because the restaurant wasn't ready yet, where we enjoyed beautiful live jazz music and a margarita. Afterwards, we entered the garden where there was a lovely breeze and atmosphere. The staff is very attentive and the experience throughout the dinner was good. We went for the set menu 75€ for 3 courses. As starters we took a cucumber salad and a meat pie, both very good. As mains we went for the pigeon and the chicken. My favourite dish was the chicken because it is paired with an interesting corn sauce and some popcorn as decoration. The desserts were also delicious but overall I would say the cuisine is quite traditional.
