There was a poster of Mercredi on the bus stop outside this establishment. For the uninitiated 'Mercredi' stands for Wednesday....Wednesday Addams. Now you may wonder the connection.
The manageress? (or appeared to be as was organising the diners on arrival) at this restaurant appeared even less welcoming / friendly than dear Wednesday. A constant dis-approving scoul. Our group, one of the first to arrive pre the place filling up, was treated as if we were an inconvenience. The artic would be less chilly.
In contrast, the young lady taking orders and serving food did a sterling job, given she was tasked with doing most of the heavy lifting.
Now to the food. Excluding the pizza that looked and tasted good, the other dishes were Italian with a twist. Good flavour if a tad low on sauce content. Light of touch with the wine đ If you didnt drink it quick what little they served would evaporate.
I hadn't noticed until now some reviews criticising the management's hiring practices here. Not too far fetched given the disposition on display.
Place was busy and clearly is well thought of locally to their credit .They seem to have just one sitting of an evening so understandably, it is all hands to deck to ensure delivery for so many at the same time. That they pulled off successfully without a smile (which ironically costs nothing).
However, first impressions count for visitors / new clients, and sadly, here was...

Love the funky style, the ease of the place. Perfectly located - in my case, 5 min walk from the main train station.
I would certainly stay here again if I come back to Strasbourg. I believe each room is unique - all 38 of them - not sure I'll be lucky enough to try them all out đ.
The shower and bathroom is perfect. The little cafeteria is adequate for a good breakfast.
One small gripe, no coffee or tea setup in the room. But that just me.
And the 5th đ - service is freindly, but the style, graffiti and decor,...
