O'Tacos Montevrain — Restaurant in Torcy

This place looked very interesting because it serves pressed panini style burritos and they are really like nothing I’ve had before. So cheesy, so filling and a great price. We were so happy to have tried it for dinner this evening and were so impressed that we will probably come back tomorrow again… but this time order a small and a medium instead of a large and medium because like other people have said the portions are massive. Oh and the server at the till was very friendly and helpful when I was ordering. She made the experience even more pleasant than just tasty food :) Anyways, this place is a really cool concept...

Avis sur Aux Tacos -Monteverain : Une expérience à fuir absolument !

Je ne prends pas souvent le temps de laisser des avis, mais là, c’est une nécessité tant l’expérience a été déplorable. Clairement, ce restaurant est à éviter à tout prix.

Dès la première bouchée, j’ai compris que quelque chose n’allait pas. La viande était à peine cuite, voire carrément crue par endroits, ce qui est inadmissible pour un établissement de restauration. Les frites dans le sandwich ? Tout simplement pas cuites, donnant une texture désagréable et un goût fade. La sauce fromagère, censée apporter du crémeux et de la gourmandise, était froide à l’intérieur du tacos, rendant l’ensemble encore plus écœurant.

Et ce n’est pas tout ! J’avais demandé un tacos gratiné, ce qui, logiquement, implique un passage au four ou sous un grill. Résultat ? Rien du tout, pas la moindre trace de gratinage. La pâte, qui doit normalement être bien dorée et croustillante après un passage à la presse, était certes chaude, mais dans un état qui laissait penser qu’elle avait été chauffée sans soin ni maîtrise.

J’ai littéralement eu l’impression de me faire arnaquer : payer un repas que l’on ne peut même pas manger, c’est une honte. J’ai fini par tout jeter, tellement c’était immangeable. Quand on compare avec d’autres enseignes bien connues du même type, où le tacos est servi brûlant, avec des frites bien cuites et une sauce fromagère fondante, on réalise à quel point ce restaurant est loin du compte.

Bref, une expérience catastrophique que je ne réitérerai pas. Si vous cherchez un bon tacos, passez votre chemin et...

Sorry to say there was nothing about the food that I liked, something shared by my cohorts. Both the beef and the chicken was unseasoned and flavorless, it just needs a boost. Also, if you're from the US, these are not tacos. It's a wrap and the bowl is like a poutine, with fries in the bottom.

The serving sides are large and the prices are pretty low, but you go out to eat to have food, so if it isn't what you want, portion size and price can't...
