Restaurant N.Y.C — Restaurant in Tours

We stopped off in Tours on a whim whilst driving back from the South and hadn't booked anywhere for dinner. We had a beer nearby and had searched for nearby restaurants, thinking this was a USA themed burger bar I suggested to my partner and we duly attended. I was quite surprised that it looked like a very nice brasserie. We were greeted by the friendly owner who sat us down and presented the menu. Throughout the meal the service received by the owner was impeccable, she clearly prides herself on classic French service. We never once had to fill our own wine glass as whenever we got near the bottom it was filled for us. The food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful.

Despite the name (the lady of the house lived for some years in New York, she told us) this is a classic French restaurant serving traditional cuisine and with pride shown in delivering proper French service but in surrounding that are clearly a nod to the Big Apple. The couple running the restaurant are passionate and the food was as tasty as the service was friendly and efficient. Amuse bouche were served between courses. We were delighted to stumble on this place and in an area full of good places to eat, from what we saw, we can well recommend taking the time to visit - you won't regret it! Went there on 18 August. It was superb. I had crab cakes to start and the pulled pork as an entrée. Both were very very good. 2 crab cakes and tarter sauce was a very nice start to a very moist and tasty pulled pork. The pork was severed wrapped in a cabbage leaf. Never had it that way before and it worked great. The Chocolate Mouse for dessert was the best I have ever tasted and I have had many as it is one of my favorites.
