Chez LUCILE, HEMP FOOD PASTA — Restaurant in Troyes

We found this place on the internet and we're stoked that there is a vegan spot in Troyes. We were very disappointed however. The food is extremely bland. Burger was a Beyond Meat/Garden Gourmet patty in a store bought bun with a slice of store bought cheese. The burger had NO SAUCE except ketchup, which funny enough was the highlight of the whole meal. We also ordered taco, which isn't taco at all, but this is France, where burrito is a taco. It was a wrap full of plastic cheese and a store bought Garden Gourmet chicken meat that was not roasted, just simply thrown inside. This dish was yet again extremely bland without any seasoning whatsoever. Both dishes came with super soggy fries. We also had a poutine which was the best of the three, but yet again, it felt like a hospital food, very bland plus it has that hemo flavour, which u didn't mind but my SO hated but this is a preference so i won't comment on that further. We met there a family with a little kid and i was thinking that for a kid this is a perfect place, no strong flavours but then i realized that this was bland probably even for the kid as it look not too amused either. I would recommend getting some spices and maybe undertaking some course in cooking because this was probably the worst vegan experience in a long time for us. On the other hand, i must say, that the owner/cook was very sweet and caring. They looked like they care and wanted us to feel welcome, which we did, despite the hideous hippie decor of the whole joint. I wanted to initially give this review 2 or 3 stars, just because of the person was probably trying their best but since i saw that most reviews here are either fake or by friends of the owner and all 5 star positive i decided to let our impression from the owner go and rated the place simply from the food and atmosphere and that was definitely not even for 2 stars. I'm sorry. We will revisit this restaurant in few months time simply because we have it close from our place to see if anything changes and if it does i will gladly change this review. Amazing Vegan Place in the heart of Troyes! Food was absolutely incredible! We recommend the Vegan chickn curry sauce in a taco or as a poutine and you must have the steak burger which is very thick and tasted incredibly good. A fantastic new place for vegans and non-vegans alike which is sure to delight everyone there. There is also a minishop in the restaurant with a few collections of unusual vegan imported products such as as chili con quinoa and the juiciest vegan chorizo I've ever seen....

very good experience, extremely well priced (maybe even to cheap for what you get) very friendly people and so tasty. We got the vegan and chicken sandwich and frankly why would you ever go to a fastfood place when you get well made food from locals with so much taste...
