I've visited both the Vake and Saburtalo locations a few times, but my first time ever was Saburtalo. When my husband and I have visitors, we take them here as one of the first places to visit. My Georgian landlord and I have also exchanged gifts that we've purchased from here during the holidays 😆
8000 Vintages should be on your top three list when visiting Tbilisi, Georgia. Start your trip here to learn the history and basics of Georgian wine while tasting the expertly selected local wines. Or if you've had Georgian wine before, use this place to fill in the gaps and ask questions to the sommelier who is sure to add more intrigue to your Georgian wine journey.
But also, it's just a really chill place to sip wine without the pretentious formality of wine tasting. The staff is relaxed, warm, and earnestly want you to enjoy Georgian wine in a no-pressure environment.
Tip: Call ahead to the location of your choice to make a reservation for wine tasting so they can prepare adequately. From what I've been told, wine tasting is not available at their Old Town location. But call ahead to check. Wine tasting also comes with its own sample charcuterie board.
The separate specialty boards are also loaded and plentiful. My favorite is Tuscany with canapes.
Shoutout to Natia, the Saburtalo sommelier! She effortlessly selects wines that are loved by new and experienced wine...
Read moreOne of the beat branch of 8000 Vintages and the first one as well. I've been visiting this place when it was the only branch they had. It is always a perfect place for social gathering, to enjoy good wine (they can help you with the selection) and some wine boards for every taste.
I've tried almost every board, but Georgian, Hummus and cheese boards are top ones. They have authentic wine choices and wide variety.
The atmosphere is just what you need to relax or to celebrate with your loved ones.
The sevice is really nice and pleasant. Keep in mind that boards are served until 23:00, after that you can order some snacks from the menu.
Definitely recommended to have a reservation as it's always busy in the evenings.
Also there is a nice shop for wine, Georgian sweets and wine accessories, so you can find a perfect...
Read moreI came here to buy a bottle of wine for somebody as a present. Not knowing much about wine, let alone Georgian wine, I asked one of their servers for a bit of advice. Archie (please forgive me if that’s the wrong spelling) was an incredible help. He advised me on the kind of wines they had after I’d explained the kind of thing that I was looking for. He gave me his professional expertise and then a little bit of his personal viewpoint. I.e Both wines are great, but wine A is better if you’re not sure what the person likes and wine B might be a bit more specific to somebody’s tastes. Thank you, Archie, you made a wine amateur feel very comfortable and helped me buy a really good wine! Highly...
