I visited a second time yesterday (July 3, 2025). Again near perfect hummus just too small for 12 lari (half the size, double the cost incurred in Bahrain in restaurant "Lubnani"). Ample kufta sandwich, quite long, with a great taste that ideally would have had more kufta inside but, importantly, the ideal amount of sauce, tahini, was used imparting moistness without inundating the sandwich with liquid (as they commonly do in Tbilisi, spoiling the sandwich, as in the Shawarma Factory). In the photo, bear in mind that I had already consumed half of the sandwich before remembering to snap a photo. Of course, this place is not cheap as it is located on a main avenue in Vake rather than in some grotto in Didomi. I recommend the kofta sandwich. However, next time I shall skip the hummus: just too overpriced. Place is very clean. Usual proprietor, his wife and son were not running the business at the time of my last visit; food was exactly the same as before but the new staff is less welcoming and friendly. Menu is a bit limited, however. I would have liked spinach fatayer, kubba sinayya, kofta bil-batatis wa banadora, imam biondi and, although more Syrian than Lebanese, samki harra. (Some people criticized the shawarma; I personally would not order shawarma from anywhere if I do not see the tower of meat slices revolving around on the spike. The shawarma is not publicly visible in this venue.) Customers cannot order after 10pm, when the kitchen closes. If you order at 9:55pm, you can still dine in but, if there are no customers, they will close up...
Read moreBerytus is without question the finest Lebanese restaurant in Tbilisi. This casual place on Chavchavadze Ave is run by a warm and intelligent Lebanese couple who put love and care into every dish.
The menu, with its cold mezze, hot mezze, and main dishes, immediately conveys authenticity. The humus was fresh with high quality young olive oil. The baba ganoush was light with a slightly smoky flavor from the charred eggplant.
Falafels were crunchy and flavorful, served on a platter with tomatoes, pickled peppers, and a light tahini-based sauce. The shawarma was, hands down, the best I've had in Tbilisi. But my favorite dish had to be the Lebanese stuffed grape leaves.
Berytus's Arak brought me back to the bars of Beirut with it's anise flavor -- similar, but subtly different from Greek ouzo or Italian sambuca.
I'm already planning my next meal and looking forward to trying the raw lamb plate and tabouli salad.

Read moreI'm a food lover and I've had lots of oriental food, and this place is my favourite of all time!! (food wise, the interior and ambiente could be improved, but I'd choose quality food over a nice ambiente any time) Honestly the baba ghanoush was to die for, and the hummus out of this world! You really can tell they make everything from scratch and use high quality ingredients (their olive oil is amazing!) Already came back twice, super sad i have to leave tomorrow. Will miss this place! Tipp: get the hummus, baba ganoush and fattoush, buy a local georgian bread in the bakery nearby and enjoy this delishious combination in...
