I would suggest book with them directly and they will provide you free airport transfer. Although you can take a Bolt at about 30 GLE approximately.
The Google location will take you a bit further from the property so take the actual link from the hotel so that you reach at their doorstep.
The hotel is a home with multiple rooms. The guests are very warm and friendly and will go all out to help. They will make you feel like family.
The rooms are accessible by staircase and that can be a challenge if you have heavy luggage and I presume one travelling abroad will have. Although the host will help but I guess out of trying to help you will also end up carrying a few as there is a limitation for one person to carry a luggage.
There were so much greenery inside the house and it was a great feeling. The walls are wooded finish and thus allows the room to be kept warm.
They do have a breakfast menu which you can negotiate and decide. In case you are leaving early it would be advisable as not everyone will find Georgian food to excite the taste bud. The menu consists of omelette and beverages of your choice. Pan cake and jam, freshly cut salads, vegetable preparation mostly consisting of egg plant , salami and ham, bread etc.
The room was small but comfortable. The bed and mattresses were very soft and comfortable to my liking. The bathroom had all the toiletries required and came with a bath tub.
There was a water dispenser at the reception so I would suggest fill up your bottle or buy large bottles from the grocery store on the opposite side of the road. Nobody seems to offer water in this part of the world.
I have to share an incident which will speak volumes of hospitality of the host. It was raining badly and we couldn’t get our money exchanged. So I asked if they can offer me cash against my USD. I was asked how much I need for the time being and they handed over 110 GLE just like that and asked to return back the next day. I mean I have never ever in so many years of travelling have experienced this kind of generosity.
I am definitely going to stay back here during my next...
Read moreWe were a group of 3 families (3 couples and 3 teenagers), who stayed for 2 nights at the British House hotel early last month. Unfortunately, there was some drama at the start, although it was soon sorted out and eventually we really enjoyed our stay. Upon check-in (which was post midnight), we realised that the booking was for 3 persons rather than 9 (our mistake, we had somehow overlooked this on the booking voucher) and also that none of the rooms was on the ground floor (probably the hotel's mistake, as we had earlier communicated to them on WhatsApp that one of the couples might have issues negotiating the stairs, but at the time of check-in, both rooms on the ground floor were occupied). The issue on the group size was thankfully resolved in some time, once the manager Temo called up the owner Mr. Shota who came in pretty soon and agreed to accommodate the additional guests and also offered us a discount on the extra payment for the additional guests. ||||Other than the 2 rooms on the ground floor, the others at the hotel can be accessed through a narrow wooden staircase, which can be a bit of a challenge for some. The staff does help with the luggage though. One of our rooms was accessible only through a narrow spiral staircase. Other than that, no complaints really. The rooms were spacious, and bathrooms spotlessly clean. The hotel itself is located in a quiet residential area. ||||The breakfast is made-to-order. We requested for vegetarian options, and we were served a decent variety - khachapuri, grilled veggies, salad, fruits, Georgian sweet rice, oatmeal and of course bread and tea / coffee. ||||The word that comes to mind for the hotel is 'quaint / cosy'; and the word to describe the team would be 'warm'. Overall, we had a comfortable stay. Surely recommended - only word of caution would be to take note of the stairs in case that...
Read moreWe were a family of 4 with one child , had booked the hotel after contacting the owner directly through whatsapp. Since we were traveling with senior citizen asked for a ground floor . The owner provided us a better rate if we pay in cash on arrival. The booking was confirmed and they shared the booking voucher on email.||5 days prior to arrival we contacted the hotel and confirmed ground floor room on whatsapp call and message as well.||On day of arrival , I called the owner at 1 Pm to check if room was ready and if we could check in early. He confirmed the same .||We arrived at the hotel at 2:30 PM , only to find at the reception that booking was not in the system , The reception person then told us they had a water problem. We were traveling with a child and senior citizens and inspite of this no room was provided. We were upset and demanded they provide an alternative accommodation. They then obliged by sharing the name of another hotel nearby but a 3 star hotel at the same price. ||It seems that the owner sold our room to another guest at a higher price , as the washrooms had water , and another couple checked into the hotel while we were kept waiting.||I would recommend to not trust this hotel and book elsewhere. Hotel Libretto is another hotel same location and bigger rooms and cheaper too. Their roof top restuarant and cafe has an amazing view and...
