Upon visiting this restaurant, my experience was unfortunately marred by a series of disappointing interactions with the waitstaff. My party and I had specifically ordered a mushroom soup and pasta, yet our order was not fulfilled as expected. Instead, we were served a salad approximately 30 minutes after placing our order. When the salad arrived, we politely inquired about the delay and whether it was part of our order. The waitress, without offering any explanation, simply nodded and assured us that our pasta would follow within 10 minutes. While we eventually received the pasta, our concerns about the missing mushroom soup were met with confusion.Despite clearly indicating our desire for mushroom soup, the waitress insisted that we had ordered a salad instead, a claim that was entirely unfounded. It was evident that there had been a miscommunication, compounded by the waitress's failure to accurately record our order. To add to the frustration, the salad we received, which was not part of our initial order, happened to be the most expensive item on the menu. This discrepancy only compounded our disappointment, as it suggested a lack of attention to detail and a disregard for our preferences.Regrettably, this experience was soured by the waitress's lack of effective communication and attention to detail. Such shortcomings not only detract from the overall dining experience but also risk tarnishing the reputation of the restaurant. It is my sincere hope that management addresses these issues promptly to ensure future guests do not encounter similar...
Read moreGreat value and service! Despite it's rather prominent green and purple facade at the entrance, this join is still a bit diffident from the outside and you'd easily be excused for thinking that it is a small cafe--it's not. In fact, it has a restaurant extension further inside, small but nice, that serves Italian food that is at least goo IMO. The green-and-purple theme of the seats dominates and defines the interior ambiance in a goo way. I haven't been here too often but I've tried the Pasta (: you choose the type of pasta :) Milanese, the Tiramisu, the Mushroom & Tarragon Soup, Coffee and their complimentary bread basket (: including some nice olive oil and balsamic dip :) that comes with every order: all goo. :) What sets this joint apart IMO is their service: the complimentary bread basket + EVOO-Balsamic Dip is pretty darn goo with 3 different types of bread. They once gave me a mint and lime seasoned water because I did not order anything to drink :) -- wasn't necessary because I wasn't thirsty but I did appreciate the gesture.
I thought the price levels were acceptable; maybe even better than that considering the above average service level.
The bathrooms are very nice and clean too! Always helpful.
All in all, highly...
Read moreFinally found it - my perfect spot in the city! Ground 84 isn't even a bar (which is what I was actually looking for initially, but whatever). Here's the thing - I'm that person who hates being squished between strangers while trying to enjoy their drink. Not exactly a social one over here.
But this place? The outdoor terrace is just perfect.
You get all the city feels without people breathing down your neck. Had their Old Fashioned on my first visit and honestly, that alone would've been enough to get me as a bistro resident. But then the pasta happened. Holy âŠ, that was good.
Came back for coffee because, I just did. That first sip hit different - like, seriously different. Threw in their yogurt-granola bowl with berries and now I'm basically planning my routes through the city just to "accidentally" pass by this place.
As a matter of fact, i don't even live anywhere near this Milanese bistro, but it's starred on my maps from now on.
Dear Ground 84 buddies - if you're reading this, don't you dare touch those outside tables. They're perfect just as they are. Thanks for giving us antisocial coffee/food lovers a place...
