Don't get lured in with the high reviews. That's the mistake we did. The food was average for the price and the prices were good for the place. But here's what went wrong. We specifically asked the waiter to give us the lemonade along with the food, as we don't like to drink it before the food and if it is served before, it just is not fizzy and cold anymore by the time food comes. But no, he still went ahead and brought it right after taking the order. We had ordered bread along with our order, our entire food was on the table, but not the bread. How are we supposed to eat the bread? After we're done with the main course? We got it only when we reminded him after we started the last main course. The waiter served the dessert, while we have even not finished the food. It would have been okay for any other dessert, but the one we ordered had ice cream, and we instructed him as well to bring it after the food is done. The dessert served didn't have any spoons with it, nor did the table had any spoons, nor it was nearby reachable so you can grab it. It doesn't end here, there was literally no one in the area we were dining, when we arrived there were a few people sitting and we could see two waiters also actively working there, but by the time we were having our food, it was only us, and it was like the waiters just served us our food and left. I had to literally stand up, reach a bit on the outside of the room and wait for 2-3 mins until I can find the waiter, to whom I called out loudly so that he can hear. And then we got our spoon and could eat our dessert which had already melted half way through. And last but not the least. The CATS!!!! Even if you dare to go to this restaurant, please DO NOT SIT outdoors if you don't like to be bothered by cats who were trying to jump on the table while you eat your food. This place had 3-4 cats roaming around the room, they were quite aggressive as well, and would constantly try to jump on the table to grab the food. My wife was quite scared of this and they wouldn't let us eat in peace. We asked one waiter to do something about it, and he was like, it's outdoor, what we can do. I'm like what?? We asked again to the other waiter who served us food. He brought a light dog chaser with him, to which the cat were running away. He did that and was leaving, but the cats would come again, seeing this when we told him we cannot eat like this with them constantly being around, he gave me the chaser. And so there I was, having the light chaser reachable with my hand, to make the cats go away, while we try to eat our food in peace. The restaurant should understand not everybody is comfortable with such aggressive cats.
I gave 2 stars, one because we were on our last day of the trip, and wanted to spend our entire cash, but it was not enough so we requested the waiter to pay it in parts (cash + card), to which he obliged. And the other star was to the other waiter who at least gave us the chaser so that we could ensure no cats are nearby us when we...
Read moreThis is a huge restaurant with inside and outside seating. Would suggest to book (as we did) a table especially if it is in the evening and on a weekend as there are live music at the inside venue. Food portion sizes were very big and a great price. Lovely atmosphere only spoiled by the bearded head waiter/manager? Who obviously hates his life. Not prepared to help us with anything. Just glared at us and announced in English that i will not help you. I do not speak English. Stared at us with an angry face, shook his head, threw his hands up in the air, said something not flattering in Georgian and stormed off to another waiter, pointing angrily at our table. All we asked for was a menu. Luckily a young lady then came to our table and assisted us beautifully in English and we tried our best to speak to her in Georgian. Thank you to her. She was great and saved the evening. And we made sure she received a generous tip. I will not recommend this restaurant. Although portion sizes are great and priced very good, the way we were treated was totally uncalled for and rude by this gentleman. 10/10 to the lady who greeted us at the entrance and the waiter who in the end assisted our table of 11. No errors from her side and a beautiful attitude. Found the bread extremely dry as well as the chicken in garlic sauce. We have had the same items at many other Georgian restaurants, soft juicy and tasty. Lovely decor, authentic experience but not the best food. I feel that a lot of it was prepared too far in advance and unfortunately dried out during the day. We still had a good time but was expecting more as this is an established business. It looked like all the other patrons (Georgians) had a lovely time so maybe it was just because we were 11 foreigners speaking broken Georgian that we were treated so badly by this angry, irritated gentlemen. I would suggest going somewhere else. Sorry about this bad review but one person can totally ruin what we hoped would have been a...
Read moreWe came here on Sunday night to have dinner and see the dancing show. Made reservation same day for 2 of us. Had a table for 2 by the dancing area and singer/playing band podium. We had a GREAT view of show and enjoyed it so much. While booking table I had a choise in 2 show halls - 1st show was from 8 to 9 pm, then live music, 2nd hall - show from 9 to 10 pm, live music before 9 pm. We chose table in a hall with show 8-9 pm. Dance show is very impressive. Actually it was only 3 dances and playing/singing band in between. Dancers changed costumes every time and choreography was a bit different, so we saw all the best of Gergian female/male parts. Really loved it. Price. In this restaurant during show you had to order on amount no less than 150 GEL (about 60 euro) per table. Menu is not overprices, maybe a little bit higher. So for 2 of us we had tons of meat and 2 glasses of wine plus 2 juices. We couldn't finish all food there, so took a plastic to go box with leftovers. Total bill we paid was about 183 GEL as there is 15% service fee on top of your 150 or over order. Pricy but really worthy for someone want to see folk dances. After the show there were few singers performing popular Gergian songs and ALL people were dancing. Very welcoming and open nation. Parking. Big free parking lot by the restaurant. Tip. Dress up nicely. Most of the women were on heels of sneakers but nice blouses. Men were in blue or black jeans and nice tops. If you dont have any nicer clothes with you - not a problem, there is no dress...
