We had a great time at Fletcher Davis. Tasty food, unique decor and comfortable seating. Would definitely recommend it for a casual meal. It was our first night in Aachen and we weren’t familiar with the area. We had just arrived to our hotel and needed something to eat. It was quite late, around 10:25/10:30 pm and our dining options were limited. We are really pleased we ended up here. When we first walked up to the restaurant it was a bit intimidating as a few people were gathered outside of the place and we didn’t know if they were still serving food. However, we were gently ushered in and encouraged to sit down. We were given menus in English which we were appreciative of. When we sat down there was just one other table seated and it looked like they were finishing up. However, 3-4 more tables came in after us and we weren’t rushed out. The Euros were going on so they had a game playing on the TV. It was fun to just sit and watch and relax a bit after a long day of travel. We had the gyro and the Hawaii burger. Both were good and I would order again. The portion could have been a bit larger for the gyro, but I left...
Read moreLovely burger place! I had a large roadhouse burger and it came between two brioche buns. The buns were lovely, and did not get soggy throughout the meal. A large meal sets you back 13 and a small meal is 10 euros with fries and a drink. The meat was tasty but you do not have a choice as to how well you want the meat done. The fries were surprisingly good and made from cut potatoes with the skin still on. However mine were overseasoned and were a little too salty for my liking, thus costing them one star.
The restaurant is rather cosy with only 6 tables but can easily sit 30-40 people. Decor is fantastic with loads of US 50s memorabilia on one side, eccentric lamps and guitars adorning the walls like an old school us diner, but sans the...
Read moreIn Aachen on business from Houston, Texas USA and the hotel suggested I try Fletcher Davis for a good cheeseburger. I walked over and at the counter asked if anyone speaks English. I was introduced to the owner Mamood who was extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered a cheesburger and fries and a bottle of coke. What a treat! As good as any cheeseburger I would normally have at home in Texas! Fresh cut and cooked to order fries were awesome. And a "real" coke like the kind we used to have when I was a kid growing up. Can't get this kind of food and service just anywhere. I will definitely be going back before I go...
