Le due Terre da Salvatore — Restaurant in Bautzen - Budyšin

By reading some of the negative reviews I should not have visited le Due terre...but probably who posted those reviews would be more happy to visit McDonald’s or Burger King or maybe they visited another restaurant, not Le Due Terre. We spent a dinner for a birthday occasion. The personnel was outstanding, extremely high professionals, knowing exactly what was their job from the bar tender to the main supervisor, waiter, cook etc... I am italian and I am used to typical high level Italian southern cuisine. In 15 years of travels around the world, this is the first time I visited an Italian restaurant of a so high level. It would be a tough competition even if Le Due Terre was not in Bautzen but in Italy. Many professionals, more then 12 people, ran around for the entire time. Service was fast and detailed. We were pampered and served with modesty and respect. Wines were excellent and served with great professionalism. We had an antipasto with a fresh burrata that was amazing. We had some Linguine with Cozze and Cannolicchi that probably are among the first 3 best Italian dishes I have ever had. The cook, Paride, is a number one.... The entire taste of the sea was inside that dish. They suggested some fresh grilled fish (orata and sword fish). Tender and extremely fresh, served with extra virgin olive oil, tasty...we had a tasty fresh salad with onions, tomatoes, rucola, cucumbers etc.... then we tasted the fresh handmade icecream...wonderful and perfect. Last but not least, Vincenzo, made for us a Tiramisu cake modified with his art, with the addition of a strawberry cream... a masterpiece. The best desert I have ever had... of course we closed with a perfect espresso (difficult to have around) an ammazza caffè (limoncello) and grappa. Price was ridiculous compared to what we had and the extreme quality of what we had, including the service. If someone from anywhere in the world, including Italy, wants to taste something great, le Due Terre is the place to visit. We will visit the other branches in Dresden as well and will go back to Bautzen. To all the personnel, thank you for the wonderful dinner...

Most terrible restaurant we have ever visited due to unfriendly staff. We both did not speak German very well so we ordered in English. The server already frowned at this point. He had an arrogant look on his face all the time. Food was okay, but got put on the table and the server didn’t even look us in the face. After finishing the food, the server did not come to us to collect the plates or ask us if we would like anything else. Eventually we asked another server for the bill, and he asked our server to bring us the bill, we saw. However, he seemed to be ignoring us. We went inside the restaurant to ask for the bill, at which the server sighed and told us that paying by card should be done outside on the terrace. You should be ashamed that we had to go inside to ASK for the bill. After paying, the server waved the receipt in my face, didn’t look at me and said “bye” with a frown on his face. Kleine sprachliche Missverständnisse konnten schnell geklärt werden. Das Servicesniveau blieb jedoch insgesamt hinter den Erwartungen zurück.

In den warmen Monaten steht zudem ein weitläufiger Außenbereich direkt am Hauptmarkt zur Verfügung und lädt zum Verweilen ein.

🍝 Speisen und Getränke: 4 von 5 Die Speisekarte bietet klassische italienische Gerichte sowie ein wechselndes Tagesangebot. Die Speisen werden frisch zubereitet und optisch ansprechend serviert. Besonders positiv fiel das hausgebackene Brot auf. Dennoch blieb die Qualität insgesamt hinter den Erwartungen zurück.

🚗 Parkplätze: 4 von 5 Das Restaurant bietet keine eigenen Parkmöglichkeiten. Im direkten Umfeld der Innenstadt stehen jedoch zahlreiche öffentliche Parkplätze zur Verfügung, sodass die Anreise mit dem Auto problemlos möglich ist.

💰 Preis-Leistung: 4 von 5 Die Preise sind fair kalkuliert und entsprechen dem regionalen Niveau. In Relation zur gebotenen Leistung ist das Preisgefüge angemessen.

Doch in puncto gastronomischer Qualität und professionellem Service bleibt das Restaurant hinter dem eigenen Anspruch zurück. Wer auf der Suche nach einem unkomplizierten Abend mit italienischem Flair ist, wird hier fündig – kulinarische Höhenflüge sollte man jedoch nicht erwarten.
