Balkaymak Simit Evi — Restaurant in Berlin

Want to recommend for several reason:

Food - 5*Stars The food was excellent and extremely delicious. Can recommend the egg with the sujuk. They have a variety of different foods and great deserts. They make fresh Turkish sesame bagel, which are delicious. I also loved the Turkish milk rice with its caramel taste. Different from anything I had in the past and I will definitely come back for more.

Setup - 5*Stars I really liked the set up of the place as they have a huge display of some of the food in the front. The classic coffeemaker is super stylish. You can also see how the food is prepared in the kitchen. They also have outdoor seating, which is great for the summertime. Place is clean, which is super important for a restaurant.

Location - 5*Star Great location. Pretty much in the district to be when you visit Berlin. Lots of things to do.

Staff - 5*Star I had the chance to speak to the owner who as it turned out is a great person. Burak was super friendly and extremely polite. He spoke a little bit about his own boxing career for Sauerland and it was impressive to hear what he has done at his age already. All the staff were polite, funny and asked frequently if everything was alright.

The reason why I would recommend Balkaymak Simit Evi with an even higher score is because the owner also did one thing that impressed me. While I was eating, it was storming outside of the store and some guys tried to get cover in front of his store. As they didn’t want to eat anything and just wanted to continue to walk, he prepared some hot tea in to go cup for no charge so that they were able to relax and drink something warm while waiting until the weather calmed down a bit. This was great to see as it is super rare in today’s society. We need more of those people.

I've never been to a Turkish coffee shop before. I'm glad it was in front of my hotel, I kept going in there while in Berlin. This place feels posh, classy, even luxurious! But, it simple, elegant and inexpensive. Very lively ambiance, all types of people linked by one promise: Superior Food Quality (being made in front of your eyes).

Our attendant was incredible, explained all options, and I'm the kind of person that ask questions, lots of questions! No problem here, since our attendant spoke English very well and always wearing a huge smile ! Free WiFi, free water service, smoking area outside, amazing pastries options, endless sauces and garnishments available.

Ich war schon früher hier einige male essen (frühstücken), da wurde der Laden aber unter einen anderen Namen geführt. Bezüglich zum Ambiente und Essen damals, kann ich nur sagen war es jetzt auch nicht der Burner aber es war ok, kann man sich geben. Ich war vor paar Tagen mit meiner Familie nach so langer Zeit wieder hier essen und es war alles andere als ein Gaumenschmaus was das Essen betrifft, hat sehr nachgelassen, keinen von Uns hat das Essen leider geschmeckt, kein Wohlfühleffekt (Ambiente), Preis Leistungsverhältnis absolut nicht gegeben viel zu teuer, überbewertet und viel zu wenig Auswahl. Die Servicemitarbeiter (Kellner) waren Uns zu persönlich schon sehr frech. Um alles abzurunden ein sehr enttäuschendes Erlebnis. Um auch noch näher auf das Essen einzugehen was der Hauptfaktor Unserer Enttäuschung war, das was wir aufgegeben und serviert bekommen haben, zum Beispiel Manti, es schwamm regelrecht in der Joghurtsauce mehr Joghurt als Manti dadurch auch insgesamt das Gericht zu kalt als lauwarm oder heiss und mehr triefendes Öl als eine leichte angeschwitzt Tomatenmarkkonsistenz garkein Tomaten Geschmack mit hinzu ein Kommentar seiten des Kellners wieso die Kinder das nicht aufgegessen haben. Weitere Gerichte die sich im Frühstücksbereich bewegten war zum Beispiel Sucuk mit Eier, einfach viel zu kalt serviert, trocken und fade der Geschmack allgemein, hinzu war noch ein kleines Salat mitbeigefügt mit einem komischen Essigdressing beträufelt der dennoch sehr intensiv, dominierend und unangenehm geschmeckt hat. Die Servicemitarbeiter (Kellner) waren zwar aufmerksam und nett, aber insbesondere ein Kellner war zuviel des Guten aufgrund von persönlichen Aussagen, insbesondere seiner Wortwahl das viel zu persönlich und sehr frech war hinsichtlich zum Gemüt eines Familienmitglieds was ihm aufgefallen war.
