Unwelcoming, hipstery atmosphere, with no place to sit, unless you wanna be an inch away from other people. Coffee is very watery, sour/acidic and very expensive. The doughnuts need a complete taste makeover - bland, dry, overpriced - but very aesthetic. Wouldn't particularly recommend.
Replying here, because I can't seem to find the correct way to do so. Thank you to the owner for replying and enquiring :) I left this review the day I went to your Danziger Str. location. I have been to the Maybach Hufer site and the atmosphere is more comfortable and homey, for sure - I definitely like it when it's not so crowded. I can understand what you mean about the Danziger Str. location setup being more suitable for a focus on take-out and might have made more sense to me if it were not so expensive and had it not been served in actual crockery, but that's fine. I had a regular coffee with oat milk, I believe. True, I'm more of a dark roast type of person, but there are many excellent fair-trade, light roasts out there like the Cameroonian one I got from the Street Food Markt at the Kulturbrauerei today (attached photo in case you are interested). Yet, all the coffee in the trendy shops seem to lean towards the weak and sour flavour profile, so it's not just yours. The doughnuts themselves are creative and look very nice, however they taste like fried dough with no sweetness, vanilla, spice or any of the flavours written on the descriptions - peanut butter, as strong of a flavour it has, does not have the flavour of peanut butter (or anything else) on your doughnuts - chocolate does not taste like chocolate, etc. I've had more than a few of your doughnuts hoping to find one that I like. I love doughnuts and though I've not found vegan doughnuts offered anywhere in Berlin except at Brammibal's, I feel bad pointing it out, but I'm taking my chances today and hope some good comes of it. Anyway, I still wish you growth and success (and some yummier vegan doughnuts for the future pleeeeaaase, because I'm still interested!) :)...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI purchased a gift voucher on their website yesterday. During the process, it would not allow me to modify the method of delivery, so I had assumed that like most businesses in this day and age, a digital voucher comes standard via email following the purchase. After the purchase went through, all I was left with was a receipt, so I contacted the company about it (before the open of business) and received an email from Rachel Colligan (office manager) a few hours later. She stated that a digital voucher could be provided, and she would check to see if the voucher I'd purchased was shipped. I then responded and provided her the information that she needed to compete my request and have not heard back from her in over 24 hours, even though I had sent multiple follow up emails due to the purchase being time sensitive (as it was intended to be a birthday gift). Needless to say, I am very dissatisfied by the way this company conducts business, and I would not recommend anyone else make the same mistake I had in doing business with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI live very close and often come for coffee and an occasional doughnut. I really love their cappuccino. Sometimes I take also matcha, and it is a nice treat too.
The assortment of doughnuts is constantly changing, I think depending on season. There are a few that are constantly there, but all the others are changing. I'm not a vegan, but I particularly like the white cream they make, I don't know what it is, but for my taste it's better than anything non-vegan I tried. I also like everything lemony they make. Once they had a really nice lemon-cheesecake doughnut with blueberries on top, I loved it so much, but then it disappeared and never came back, I was so mad :D But next season there were more incredible flavors.
I'm moving away soon, and will miss them a lot. I wish them a great success and to stay creative and bring...
