today was our first and last visit of this place. the guy at the counter was extremely aggressive (probably, just overcaffeinated, but idk). so he approached us with the drinks (a cappuccino and a flat white) and practically yelled at us because we ‘changed our seats’ and he couldn’t find us. the thing is, we didn’t change our seats: after we ordered the drinks at the counter we approached one place and, since it was our first time there, just stood confused for several seconds and could’t figure out if what we saw was a table and a pair of stools or just a bunch of spare chairs and stools. well, technically, in this cafe they use stools as tables, but we didn’t know it back then. confused, we decided to keep looking for a place with an actual table and then we found seats in the other part of the cafe. (btw there was also a stool playing the role of a table but at that moment we got familiar with the concept.) since we took place I was trying to pay attention to what was going on with the drinks. I usually think about people working in the cafes and I really was worried that the cafe was pretty crowded and it would be hard for the barista to find us. as soon as I saw the guy with our drinks, I helped him find us. that’s when he told us in a very rude manner that he didn’t like us having changed the seats. he used the tone that I’d never really experienced before as a customer. after talking to us like this he went back to the counter and slapped it. 😳 I think he wanted us to feel very guilty… is this the famous berlin...
Read moreIt's a really nice spot, food and coffee are good. Staff are sweet and helpful but there is one staff member who I keep seeing early in the mornings around 8 when he opens who is consistently rude. Not sure if employee or owner. This morning his tone and attitude were so comically inappropriate and rude, I was half expecting a hidden camera. He bossed me around telling me where to sit because standing in front of the cashier to order stressed him out too much while he was finishing putting the tables out. So I wasn't allowed to stand. Then he barked at me what my problem was when I was confused. Quote 'It's not that hard to understand', 'what's your problem' etc etc etc. Just completely comically unacceptable in any context but especially when you are buying a service, specifically an overpriced 4 euro coffee . On other days, I've seen him do this to other people waiting to be served in front of me too. All women, by the way. I counted and to one lady he told where to wait he literally said 3 times 'It's not that hard to understand.' It was intimidating, insulting and mean. I've been during the day and he has on occasion been friendly, especially when I was there with my (male) boss, so maybe he's just super moody or really not a morning person. But man, that's not my problem, pull yourself together and act professionally. Keep your mood swings to yourself. What a pity. Great place otherwise but I won't go anymore. His vibes are...
Read moreI wanted to leave the place with good memories and a 5 star review. The place is hip and the food very nice. Coffee however is only average. Nevertheless, as such it is a nice breakfast place. But…
My girlfriend found a long curly black hair in her scrambled eggs. This is why she asked for a replacement, especially because she noticed it right in the beginning. They took it back and brought her a new one. We noticed that they only flipped the scrambled eggs to grill them some more, left the salad the same but changed only the piece of bread.
When she started eating, my girlfriend noticed again the same black curly hair in the scrambled eggs. Uffffffffffffffff! That’s disappointing! So she gave the food back and asked for her money. In the end she got it, however was treated by the owner in a rude and unprofessional manner. The only responsible person there had been the girl at the counter. Neither the owner nor the chefs were interested in attending us nor helping to solve the issue. Not even an apology was in it.
Such bad customer service is unacceptable which is why I left so few stars. You can go there and have good breakfast but better to keep your eyes open before you...
