It's a cozy place with good beer and decent snacks, but not for sensitive souls like me. I picked a wine I didn't like, and when I asked for something else, the bartender sarcastically dismissed the efforts of the young woman (second bartender) to help me, making her feel frustrated because she was eager to help, in the process making me feel belittled and unwelcome. I just wanted a straightforward answer that there is a 'no exchanges' policy, and I would have just bought another drink. Instead, I cried while my husband finished his beer and we left. If you're like me, a little snowflake that comes from cultures where making your guest feel welcome is important, then try the lovely place called BIP across the street. My husband will definitely still enjoy this place solo; he is a northerner and a less complicated person than I am; I need heart and empathy to enjoy a place. But, really, other than the man who seems to be running it, the place is very nice; the young woman who also works there...

The food was okay, we were sitting outside on the sidewalk (due to the absence of trees on that street no overwhelming ambience), but the capper was the guy serving us. He had a strange attitude. He was constantly making sarcastic remarks that did not come off as overly charming and when my girlfriend went to pay he made fun of her. Apparently we were unlucky with that dude as his brother is supposed to be very nice and they split the shifts brotherly. But that still means that guy gets to annoy customers half...
Read moreWe´ve been there a couple of times, really like the beer and place. The staffs attitude was always something that we would overlook, but yesterday was the last time. The server treated us with irony and disrespect when we simply asked if we should order inside or outside. Im sick of this "berliner style" unkindness. Lets stop normalizing and justifying it, and lets start treating people with respect....
