I was visiting the town for a short trip and got invited by friends to go for a sushi place. It was not my intention to go for sushi but roji made it to something more then just a ordinary lunch.
To the restaurant: I liked the place of its love to the detail. The restaurant had the flair of an traditional izakaya as they are in tokyo or other places in japan. By looking arround you find more details and more and more details as it wouldn’t stop. As it wouldn’t be enough even the toilets were a part of the experience. The owner told me that its design to the entry and toilets is referring to the 19th century where farmers were working on fields and living in there villages. What great love to the Detail.
To the food: Roji has various of specialties but its focus is on sushi. Sushi sushi sushi. In all different shapes and tastes. Fair enough to say that all of its fish is really fresh since they know what it’s important when it comes to sushi - obviously it’s because they are a specialised sushi place. But the way how they present is different. No matter what small dish we ordered the plates where decorated with an extra touch of „rojis love to Details“.
To sumup: we had a great experience we had tons of pictures for instagram we...
Read moreMy new favorite sushi restaurant in Berlin. What attracted me the most about it was the authentic Japanese ambiance. I recommend to book a table in advance, because it gets very busy. I got seated at the worst table in the restaurant near the kitchen which I wasn't very happy about at first, but as soon as I was served, how amazing the food was made up for it. We started with ordering two virgin homemade cocktails, lychee and blueberry mint, they were both very fresh. Then I always order miso soup, they didn't have the one with salmon, but the one I ordered came with very soft tofu which was tasty as well. I ordered Maki, Nigiri, IO rolls, special house rolls and crunch rolls. The food came in a huge plate with a very nice presentation that just added to the experience. My favorite were the special house rolls, with spicy tuna, and the other one had unagi, my absolute favorite. I enjoyed all the rolls, there was nothing that I wasn't satisfied about. The waiter was very friendly and explained the different kinds of sushi we ordered, as well as made sure to ask our opinion of the food. I can't wait to...
Read moreOrdered over the website, expected delivery time of 18:45pm. After the food was 15 minutes late, we called and were told it’s on it’s way. 45 minutes later, the food arrives. VERY DISAPPOINTING! Texture of alllll sushi was wet and mushy, horrible texture. Ordered a variety of fish and all had the same texture and tasted of nothing.
•“Spicy Tuna” roll was just basic tuna roll with Sriracha sauce on top...really? •Chicken Karage had slimey and separated from the batter. Also the portion size was ridiculous (3 pieces?) They were the same size as the sauce pot🤣 •Chicken wontons were cold but the tiny piece of chicken inside was rock hard.
For the food we received and the quality, this is overpriced. Would not order again. There are other sushi places in Pankow that charge a fair price and have MUCH better...
