Neu Delhi — Restaurant in Berlin

It was Tuesday around 21:15 when we left Berlin Mitte with the tram. Realizing most restaurants including the one we wanted to eat at were closing at 22:00. So I googled and found Neu Delhi near Burgerpark Pankow where our Airbnb was located. Open till 23:00, perfect we thought. When we got out of the tram it had started to rain, a cloudburst and a real downpour. When we entered the restaurant just before 22:00 completely soaked I asked if we could still order in. Yes no problem. So we sat down. There were 3 other people in the restaurant of which 2 soon left. They took our order. Brought our drinks. And then we waited, and waited, and waited. For more than one hour. Several people of their staff looked at us from time to time. Nobody came to us asking if we wanted another drink or explained why it took that long. When I asked for another drink and asked if we needed to wait much longer we were told they FORGOT to give the order to the kitchen staff. Meanwhile we were the only 2 people in the restaurant. Realizing we didn't have much other options we decided to wait a bit longer. Normally in other circumstances I would have left already. The Palak paneer was okay, the cheese wasn't stir fried in any herbs. The lamb biryani was delicious. But we will never ever visit this restaurant again. The waiting time and horrible service. They just said sorry. Didn't even offer us one drink on the house as small compensation for forgetting the only 2 customers they had waiting in their restaurant. It was once but never again. I am a vegetarian and i ordered a soup and a main course with flat bread which are all vegetarian. They sent me all chicken items and the courier person didnt even bothered to call me and then started complaining that i didnt document my number properly, but its the same number i had. I saw my food immediately after he went and none of the items are something that can be consumable for me, because of high butter content and meat involved. I then called the restaurant asking what happened and they responded its the couriers fault and told me i rather eat the meat than making a deal about it even after telling them i cannot consume it. When i asked them i cannot eat it again, they told me not to talk to them now because they are very busy as a restaurant and told me to call later. Me and my guest had to wait another hour to get our dinner from another restaurant. Im disgusting by the customer service of the restaurant and the sheer arrogant tone in which the person spoke to me. Its a waste of money on the food and also it pained me to see that i had to throw it away. Money doesnt grow on trees.

This restaurant was a perfect example of how to take a great location, great cuisine and then blow it off completely. Despite being hesitant after seeing low ratings, we still decided to give it a try and be hopeful about getting a good experience. The whole place was almost empty, only 2 tables being occupied. Yet the service was SOO slow. I had to request twice to take away the remaining dishes from the previous customer from our desk. The serving person was half asleep, super slow. The food it self was 3 out of 5.

I can see that they have all feedback they need on Google reviews. I hope that either they learn and fix it, or sell the restaurant to someone who actually loves and knows this business of...
