I'm very sorry to give a not good review, but my overall opinion is that it's an extremely overpriced and pretentious place. After eating a 14 euro piece of bread with eggs and avocado with a bit of rocket salad and runny beetroot puree on the side, I feel like a have to get somewhere else to get some food and actually feel satisfied.
The staff is very kind but we waited a long time to get our food, not to mention that we had to get up and go to the counter to order, even though the place was mostly empty. Maybe it wasn't a good moment for them, however it wasn't a good experience. They also gave us hummus without anything to dip (how were we supposed to eat it?) and we had to ask for bread, which came in 4 small pieces after 10 minutes.
The place is very nice and cosy and dishes are very good looking and very well presented. The taste is just okay but it's just not worth the price.
Lastly, an all day breakfast place without any sweet dish (eg pancakes). Just granola and a couple of sad looking cakes on the counter.
Almost 40 euros for what you see in the picture (don't be fooled by the exaggerated amount of voluminous leaves on the food - it was really scarce beneath it). I get that you use quality ingredients, but you could at least be a bit more generous with the portions.
I'm sorry, but I wouldn't recommend this place.
MY ANSWER TO THE OWNER'S KIND REPLY:
Dear Seven,
First of all, I want to sincerely thank you for your quick, detailed and generous reply. I really appreciate your attention to detail and passion for your work. That being said, I have to kindly decline your offer for two reasons: the first is that I'm no longer in Berlin because I'm on a road trip, and the second is that it wouldn't change my mind on the fact that 14 euros for a piece of toasted bread with 2 eggs and some avocado and sauce is a valuable price. Unless those eggs come from another planet or have been brooded by Queen Elizabeth, I can't think of any reason for its price despite your kind explanation. However, this is just my opinion and I can see that most of your clients are enthusiastic with your food and service, which is why I went there in the first place as treat dor my birthday. I was very disappointed and wanted to tell my experience. Once again, thank you so much for getting back to me and to take the time to try to make it right for an unsatisfied customer. This really makes you guys stand out. It's not much, but I've changed my rating from 2 to 3. Still not satisfied, but my sincerest congrats for handling this so well. Best of luck...
Read moreThe food at the restaurant was consistently extremely good, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visits. The vegan shakshouka was a standout dish, as the herbs in the tomato sauce brought back nostalgic memories of my mom's home-cooked meals, with a delightful modern twist. I also highly recommend trying the caramelized onion-börek; it's a must-try. Their coffee also tastes great (nice level of acidity) and they offer a variety of vegan alternatives.
While some of the staff members were super friendly, I did experience some issues with the service during my second visit, particularly when the restaurant was quite busy. Despite the fantastic food, these inconsistencies caused some stress and detracted from the overall experience.
During the second visit, after the friendly waiter took our coffee order, he mentioned that he would return shortly to take the rest of our order. However, we waited for a good 50 minutes without receiving our coffee or the opportunity to order anything else. It seemed that our table, located in the middle of the restaurant, was overlooked, while others who arrived later were already close to finishing their meals. One factor that contributed to the delay was that some staff members appeared to be engrossed in their own conversations and chats with each other, which resulted in less attention being given to the customers.
Additionally, there were a couple of incidents that could have been handled better. On two separate occasions, cutlery fell off the waitresses hands, and instead of replacing it, the staff simply placed it back in the bin with the clean cutlery. Moreover, whenever I attempted to order more items, the waitress responded quite confused, stating that I had already placed an order (we wanted more coffee and a few side dishes).
I wanted to provide this feedback because I genuinely enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and would love to see improvements in...
Read moreThe most bizarre experience ever. We came here for my boyfriend’s birthday brunch and just had the absolute worst time, it was almost laughable. The waitress took our order- we both had a brunch plate each and then were sharing pancakes. She then brought over my meal and the pancakes and walked away. I checked my boyfriends food was coming and she proceeded to gaslight us saying she didn’t take another food order even though we literally had to customise his order (type of eggs etc) and she was inputting stuff on her phone?!? So we said the order again and she took it. 30 minutes later, nothing. She was avoiding my eyes and wasn’t coming over to check on us. I eventually got her attention and she was somewhat smirking at us. I said can you please check where it is and she said 5 mins. 15 more mins pass and it’s actually getting laughable at this point. She comes over with some orange juice (?!) to say sorry for the wait. The food then comes about 1 hour later and I’m not joking you, it was overcooked eggs, dry toast and some cut up sausages, something that takes 2 minutes to make 😂😂😂😂 but whatever. We asked to pay pretty quick and she brought over some weird dessert thing which was a waste as we didn’t want it. She didn’t take the food off the bill and then when I paid she honestly laughed and was like ‘sorry :)’. Most strange experience ever 😂 people around me were getting irritated because of the service too I could...
