FIRE 1973 Vietnamese kitchen & Sushi — Restaurant in Berlin

Wir haben gerade das Restaurant nach dem Abendessen verlassen – das Essen war gut, aber ein Punkt hat uns sehr enttäuscht.

Wir haben eine Flasche Wasser bestellt, die – wie auf dem Foto zu sehen ist – offensichtlich nachgefüllt wurde und kein originales Flaschenwasser war. Am Ende baten wir noch um zwei Gläser Wasser, weil wir noch etwas Durst hatten.

Wir verstehen, dass Wasser etwas kosten kann, aber auf der Rechnung stand:

Die nachgefüllte Flasche (750 ml) kostete 7 €

Jedes Glas Wasser kostete 3,50 €

Insgesamt haben wir also 14 € nur für Wasser bezahlt, obwohl wir nur zwei Hauptgerichte gegessen haben. Das finden wir extrem überteuert und wenig transparent – besonders, wenn es sich nicht einmal um Markenwasser handelt.

Sehr schade, denn das Essen war eigentlich gut, aber dieses Detail hat einen schlechten Eindruck hinterlassen.We just left after having dinner, and while the food was good, there was one issue that left us quite disappointed.

We ordered a bottle of water, which—as you can see in the photo—was clearly refilled and not original bottled water. At the end of the meal, we asked for two more glasses of water because we were still a bit thirsty.

We understand that it's reasonable to charge something for water, but we were shocked to see the bill:

The refilled bottle (750 ml) was charged at €7

Each glass of water was €3.50

In total, we paid €14 just for water, when we only had two main dishes. This seems extremely overpriced and not very transparent, especially considering it wasn’t even bottled water from a known brand.

Our experience at FIRE 1973 was great! The atmosphere is lovely. The restaurant is new, it is very modern inside and offers a nice dining area outside. The service was really friendly and ambitious. BUT: the food was just beyond fabulous! We can totally recommend number 77! The baked duck was so crispy and flavourful, one of the best ducks I've had! The curry sauce was out of this world! Very tasty food and presentation, very good service, very nice interior with plants, wood, and acoustic-absorbing panels on the ceiling. The pho (ga, bo tai + bo chin) were all very tasty, as was the chien chuoi (fried bananas) and flan at a good price. There is also a kids menu. Nice attention to garnishes. It would have been even better if there had been a bit more fresh greens to go with the pho, but that is a minor detail. We will be back to try more of the...
