Sorry, i cannot find anything positive for this place. Last Friday, after work, many colleges went there. We were a mix group including black, Middle Eastern and so on. The minute we entered the place, we wanted to order. The owner(red haired woman) told us she is going to take the order at the table. As mentioned, we were couple of people and directly we made 2 tables together so that we could sit together. Then, the owner(red haired woman)came to take orders then started shouting at us in German. She said “we are not supposed to make the tables like that and it her Kneipe”. The way she told us was like you are not welcome here. And I told her in German that we did not want to be disrespectful since we are many people we just made the tables like that. She was so disappointed as if we just created something really bad. And our group decided to leave the place right away due to this kind of escalation. I understand the “Berliner Schnauze” but it was not. Every customer has right to get a proper service. And the owner should treat the customers friendly. So, she has neither of any treats above mentioned. If she wants to get money and run the business, she should learn to talk properly...
Read moreAwful staff. Woman behind the bar has nothing but contempt for non Germans. Would be a pretty decent bar but the overt racism (nationality rather than skin tone) from the staff is unbelievable. 'After hours' drinks were served to the German couple next to us, when we asked for some we were basically told to do one in a very unfriendly way. Another patron tried to justify this by saying she's the boss here. Sorry but how can you possibly justify someone treating you differently because of where you're born?! Not just this incident, you are made to feel very unwelcome from the second you walk in. I'm not a delicate flower sort by any means but I've honestly never experienced an establishment like it. In summary if you're not German then forget it and head round the corner to Republic instead where the staff couldn't be more friendly...
Read moreWent to this pub for an evening drink. Its a quite ornate old school bar with oldish men sat with beer playing endless credits on the fruit machine you know the type
Got shouted at by the owner for not closing the bathroom door. Maybe the door should have a autoclose mechanism ! She was just being a matriarchal tho and you cam expect to meet the odd battleaxe in Germany from time to time. She later was polite as she took my money in exchange for alcohol.
Nice beers though and although none of the Germans engaged with us, we got chatting to other US and British tourists who came in and we had a really good three or four hours there.
Recommended for that authentic German bar experience but remember to close the door when you go the...
