Nestled beside the Jannowitzbrücke, Ming Dynastie invites you into a dining experience that feels both authentic and warmly familiar. The service is friendly and attentive, with staff who are happy to offer recommendations and explain the menu with care.
What truly stands out is the food: a diverse selection of regional Chinese dishes, many of which are handmade and deeply rooted in traditional recipes. The flavours are bold yet balanced, often surprising in their subtlety rich in umami, spice, and aroma, without ever feeling heavy or overdone. Each dish feels like a reflection of culinary heritage, crafted with intention rather than adapted for Western tastes.
From the soft, delicate dumplings to the fragrant stir-fries and slow-cooked meats, you can taste the depth and individuality of each recipe. The kitchen delivers with impressive speed even at peak times, dishes arrive promptly and nearly all at once, creating a shared, communal dining experience that mirrors the feel of family meals in China.
At certain hours, the restaurant fills with a comforting buzz laughter, conversation, the clatter of chopsticks—evoking the charm of weekend dinners in typical Chinese households. Ming Dynastie is more than just a restaurant; it's a place where authentic flavours and heartfelt hospitality come together, offering a rare and memorable journey into Chinese cuisine right in the heart of Berlin. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an honest, flavourful, and genuinely comforting Chinese dining...
Read moreWe are vegans and we visited this restaurant yesterday. There’s a large section of the menu labeled as vegetarian. Next to each dish you can see the allergens, so it’s easy to know if it contains egg or not. There are plenty of vegan dishes, but they are not labeled as such. There are several vegan meat dishes with vegetables.
If you are vegan or vegetarian, ask them not to use oyster sauce in your dish.
We tried them and they were delicious and generous in portion. I wish they labeled them as vegan, but I think they’ll do that very soon. It’s a very interesting restaurant, with authentic food. Many Chinese people eat there, since it’s the restaurant connected to the Chinese embassy, which is just across the street. The atmosphere is cheerful, diverse, international, colorful, modern and multicultural.
We waited almost half an hour or more for the food, but the restaurant, which is very large, was completely full. The wait was worth it. Next time, we’ll go at a less busy time.
We went back on a Sunday around noon. This time it wasn’t as crowded, so service was quick and our vegan dishes came out in under 10 minutes. Everything was delicious, and the staff were really friendly. There’s a great variety of vegan options too. Definitely a perfect spot for a Sunday. Highly...
Read moreExcellent food, the place is quite large to host decent size groups and can serve quite a few people. It is centrally located and easily accessible to public transport
The food in itself quite extraordinary and they do make very good food. I’m personally not the biggest fan of Chinese food but I did thoroughly enjoy it. Primordially being a vegetarian, my worry was about food i could find in Berlin. But I was pleasantly surprised to see their menu and choices. Our order ranged from the spring roll starters to dumplings, soups and mains which were combination of Chinese vegetables and rice. Each one of these items were well made and it let everyone quite pleased with the food.
I’d thoroughly recommend this place for anyone in the mood for a nice Chinese cuisine. Top tips
The portions are quite decent, so it’s best to order to share. If you pack a good appetite I’d certainly recommend one per person The soup in itself is a starter, it’s just an appetiser and will not make you full. But it will keep you warm and cozy Most of the mains come with rice , just double check before you delve into order...
